Blame them for what Sky News did?  Really?  So, Sky News is simply a tool at the disposal of McCann supporters is it?  It's morally wrong or even illegal to take evidence of wrong-doing to the media then in your view is it?

No doubt it was the same people who contacted Sky News the morning after Madeleine disappeared. These people have a lot to answer for and have a very clear agenda… all in my opinion of course!

By no means can you blame all McCann supporters for the actions of Sky News but you can blame the individual(s) who sent the dossier to them when SY refused to do anything.

yep they took the law into their own hands and it  resulted in the death  of a women

There is a fine tradition of investigative reporting ... which is despised by many Governments ... and individuals who have a lot to hide.

Your mind-set and the lengths you go to to defend the indefensible make me shudder.

I`ve just deleted my response ...........sheer waste of time.

If you don`t get the principle, fair enough.

And what would that agenda be then?  According to Kate McCann the first Sky heard of Madeleine's disappearance was from the Press Association and from seeing one of their friends on GMTV on the morning of the 4th.  So where is your evidence for your claim?

By the way, note not one single comment of disgust, incredulity or condemnation of the list of  tweets I posted up last night from anyof the "sceptics".   In fact they seem to have been completely ignored by this group, who prefer instead to condemn as illegal and / or immoral the people who would rather see this sort of online abuse halted.   You really couldn't make it up.

How tiresome that you can only answer my questions with your own questions.  Let's start again.  You answer mine and I'll answer yours, OK?

Sorry "Alfred R Jones".............I was imitating your post to me by repeating your style back at you!

Tiresome isn`t it..........??

My replies to you and in general have said all I need.

The principles behind what I feel about the issue are quite plain.

You really don't read peoples posts, do you Alfred.

TRY READING.

It helps.

Then condemn the trolls who support the mccanns.

...........so after we`ve all expressed our disgust, incredulity and condemnation of tweets from both sides...........

...........are we then to follow it up by saying that it`s therefore fine to pre-empt a police investigation by selecting a target and confronting him/her via the press?

Is that what you want to happen?

What exactly are you trying to say?

I'm not sure I follow.  Are you blaming McCann supporters for the actions of Sky News?

Out of interest, do you think the media has no place in exposing potential criminal activity?  Should for example the Telegraph have kept quiet when it received information about the MPS expenses fiddling, for fear it might cost the MPs in question their reputation, livelihoods and possibly send one or two of them over the edge?

A very interesting parallel.  The House of Commons tried to supress details, but following high court action in 2008 was overruled, with details being authorised but with details redacted.

In 2009 the Telegraph received leaked uncencored details which the published, and the rest is history.  Following the logic of some members here, the Telegraph journalist should be censured for leaking details.
