So, after nearly two hours no reply to my question from the kind, reasonable, only questioning "sceptics" as to whether or not the McCanns deserve to be abused by trolls, despite the fact that several were on here and reading this thread.  How very odd.

Do the mccanns deserve criticism for their behaviour, which led to Madeleine's disappearance ?

After all, who is responsible for what happened in this case, when they left their three children all by themselves, for hours on end, with intermittent and uncorroborated checks ?

Seven years of daily criticism crosses the line and did so many years ago IMO.  But of course it isn't just criticism is it, as well we know.   so far, not one "sceptic" on here has chosen to condemn online abuse of the McCanns, and one has publicly given it the thumbs up.

When a group of people get together every day to pour scorn and vitriol on another and it soon becomes the norm, then it usually doesn't take long before the hate group are egging each other on to say more and more hateful things, sometimes this will include threats of violence.  If you are a part of this group then you have to take a certain amount of responsibility for what is said and done if you stay quiet about it, even if you disapprove of some of what is said.  McCann "sceptics" who say they do not hate or abuse but only question are generally very quiet indeed when it comes to challenging the hate and abuse of others - why is that I wonder?

You don't think there are any "sceptics" that are also members of hate groups then?  As I said before, if you are not a member of a hate group (and by that I include the regular posse of h8ers on twitter and facebook) then I am not talking about you.  Now, do the McCanns deserve the online abuse they receive or are you going to duck the question again?
