21:00  - a couple of British holidaymakers collected their children from the night creche at the OC main 24hr reception. The father walks on ahead with one child in his arms back towards block 4 and 5.

Smithman carrying a child in his arms checked his watch after passing the Smith family and the time was 10:03. Both are still unidentified 10 years later.

Are you sure that you got that right, pFinder?

Cos it very much looks to me as tho he is walking away from blocks 4 and 5, not TOWARDS them !
he is going towards block 6.

Madeleines block is block 5.

Block 4 is on the same piece of land with the same Tapas garden swimming pool, restaurant, bar and tennic courts etc.as block 5, immediately west of Madeleines block (5)

Block 6 is next block immediately east of Madeleines block (and across the road Rua Dr  Francisco Martin Gentil).
It is the block where the balcony is, overlooking 5A.  The balcony  that I think was possibly used by part of the abduction group to watch the comings and goings whilst the abduction took place.   The fag end balcony

Hope I haven't further confused you

If he came straight from the night creche towards the McCanns - he would come to in order block 6, 5 and 4 i.e. the opposite direction to Tanner's account. It said walking towards block 4 and 5 which indicates that he went in a circle route from the night creche to come to block 4 first then onto block 5 where Jane saw him passing heading towards block 6.

You have further confused me.  But never mind.  I get the fag end balcony.  And I believe that someone was watching.  They would have been daft not to.

But being in danger of going Off Topic,  I am amazed by some of these Witness Statements that are only now coming to light.
We all trusted far too much by presuming that everything was being aired.  It wasn't.  We were being fed a line.

In my opinion, of course.

Not a route that an innocent father would have taken.  Unless he had no idea of where he was going.  And no way does someone carry a child in that position for such a distance.  Talk about arm ache.

I have often wondered why this man's original statement, made allegedly to LP, in which he disclosed he was passing appt. 5a between 9 & 9.30 was never treated as priority by the PJ, in the light of Jane Tanner's sighting.
There is no record in the public files of when the statement was made, or indeed when it was forwarded to Portugal.
What baffles me is why this man seems to have chosen to remain silent for 6 years, despite all the publicity surrounding the case - unless, like the Smiths ' statements, it was to be used in evidence to clear, rather than incriminate someone...........

Well he was seen by an invisible person at the time  &%+((£

Block 6 (Neil Berry / Raj Balu) is on the other side of the road to the McCanns block 5. Block 4 (Jez Wilkins) is next to block 5 opposite the wasteland.

Yes, it does help a bit.  So thanks, Anna.  But then I knew from yonks ago that The McCanns simply cannot have done all that they have been accused of.  So apart from this innocent father coming from the wrong direction,  I haven't paid all that much attention.

I still believe that the abductor took the route towards Robert Murat's house to avoid the main streets.  I have no thoughts on a car.  I believe that he was heading for the beach to have Madeleine taken off by boat.

I believe that Madeleine was abducted to order within certain parameters.  And I most sincerely hope that it was for a family.

But the main thought for me now is that if she is dead then there will be no further hurt for her.  But she could still be alive and well.  If she is then I hope that she is happy.

Assuming LP passed it to PJ...

Why wouldn't they?
Oh, of course, it would have blown the abduction theory!

It would be wonderful if she was alive and well and I think everyone wishes the same.
I don't think there is any way that the McCanns could have accomplished what they have been accused of. Tannerman is the one that I suspect took Maddie. Not sure though if it was to the beach or into a car through the area to lot 6 carpark, which I have only recently observed.

Deleted, I misread your post.

Do you think it likely that he took the circular route?  And Jane thought that her man carried on in an easterly direction along Rua Dr Agostinho de Silva, NOT that he turned in a more southerly direction.
