Pat Brown >> Lets talk about curtains.

^ Amazing some of the stuff Pat Brown posts. About a month ago she wrote an article stating that she would not write about Madeleine McCann anymore. If anything since then the volume of articles has stepped up a notch. I don't know about you guys but I think she gives a bad name to the sceptics. Also she deletes any comments from her thread that are asking pertinent questions or even being vaguely critical.

Let's Talk about Curtains
Anyone who works in a lab that tests hotel bedspreads from a crime scene can tell you that they may find dozens and dozens of DNA samples on just one item, perhaps even semen from more than two dozen men. Why is this? Because hotels don't wash bedspreads very often.

Now, let's talk about curtains. How often do you think curtains in rental flats are washed? Yeah, about as often as those hotel bedspreads; actually, probably far less often because curtains are not usually a place where spilled drinks and food, vomit, pee, or semen tend to land. Unless those curtains get really disgusting (full of cigarette smoke, for example), they probably hang around without getting a wash for quite a long while.

And while they are hanging around, they are touched quite often.....open, close, open, close, open, close. So, if you want to find a location in a rental unit that might still have a lot of DNA from a number of people, you just might choose the curtains.

After, you test them, you would then have to run down everyone who ever stayed in the unit (and their friends who visited) and all the employees who might have entered the room in order to exclude anyone who have had reason to be there. You could then try to match the DNA to known criminals if you have their DNA or their DNA is in a data bank.

Of course, in the end, if you still have some DNA that can't be matched to anyone, you can always suspect that mysterious DNA be the calling card of some unknown person who committed some terrible crime that happened in that location.

Just saying.

I would most definitely have to agree with you on Pat Brown.

What she writes isn't worth reading.IMO. She never deletes my posts... because I would waste my time. I prefer discussion to jibing-nasty taunts, which can be this forum on occasions. There are newer ones just for discussion. no libel no abduction being banded as a given and no 'innocent' parents. Even though some do believe in the abduction and give valid points...

I wonder why newspapers still print 'cute Maddie pictures' all over the front pages? I am beginning to feel uncomfortable about her being a cash cow for the rats who scurrie for tit bits. If it was my daughter I would ask them to stop out of respect- and besides she has aged considerably.

Mind you she has a valid point. I worked in a hotel as a head housekeeper. The bedspreads were laundered about once a year unless they were grubby, like people had spilt coffee on them or used them to wipe their shoes (yes they do that), and the curtains, in the two years i was there I dont remember the curtains being washed lol. Vacuumed yes front and back, and dusted rails.

We have stayed in lots of self catering apartments, and most of them were a bit grubby to be honest. Not cleaned like we would. Infact if my memory serves me, when i left they a lot were cleaned lol, by me.

People dont have the time to wash curtains and bedspreads constantly. Come to think of it, how many in their own homes change their bedspreads constantly or wash their curtains? I actually usually wash my curtains once a year or if i get fed up of them I buy new.

I know loads of people who have NEVER washed their curtains lol....

The one thing i do wash regularly is my nets.

Not everyone is anal in cleaning.

So she is right, what sort of DNA do they expect to find?

As to the comments it was explained I thought quite fairly why the post had been removed.

Which is more then you get on most forums, they just get whooshed.....

I havent really read her stuff, but thanks for that link.

If Madeleine was abducted then it was planned and executed professionally by people who knew what they were doing, I don't believe for a moment that any locals were involved.  For one thing, child abductors don't generally practise their profession in their own back yard for obvious reasons.  By the same token, if she was abducted she was well away before the police even received the first call.

Professionals don't leave traces behind, no fingerprints, DNA or body hair.  The Tanner and Smith sightings could not have been that of a professional abductor.

A malicious prosecution for a crime which never existed. An exposé of egregious malfeasance by public officials.
Indeed, the truth never changes with the passage of time.

In with a skelington key, grab kid, get out, bung 'er in a van, gone.

None of that faffing around with curtains, shutters, windows & then making off on foot nonsense.

That's what Interpol thought (Belgium gang) and they were on a road to nowhere. Smithman fooled nearly everyone.
Smithman carrying a child in his arms checked his watch after passing the Smith family and the time was 10:03. Both are still unidentified 10 years later.

Why does no-one ever mention the chair in the corner of the room, blocking the way to the window? If someone squeezed past it to open the shutters/window there could be fabric traces on it.
