Well, mistakes happen. It wasn't a mistranslation as such since the content of the form doesn't appear to have been translated, but a mistaken reference title (the same mistaken one is on maddiecasefiles as well).

The translators were doing this in their spare time for free, but the red top hacks are paid - twice, in fact. Once to say that he'd been swabbed and again a few days later to say that he denies it.

I cannot find any reference to this note, nor any reference to the reservoir actually being searched despite many references to the intent.  Maybe the shelving of the case overtook events.

I can't find any reference to searches of the dam after 8 May (which involved a boat checking the surface).

I've already pointed out that the UK press is IMO misquoting this honest witmess.
What they are misquoting him on is the date the note was found.
The UK press claim he said it was found on 3 May 2008.
And they use that misquote to accuse the PJ of ignoring it.
The truth IMO is that the note was found 3 Oct 2007 latest, and when it was handed to PJ, they immediately diverted resources away from the searches based on phone forensics very close to and southwest of PDL, to search this distant lake and the surrounding forest with no phone forensics pointing there.
Never trust the UK press when they accidentally misquote an honest witness then invent a story which falsely critisises the PJ.

The witness is 100% honest.

Obviously just my opinion but I did research it, everything checks out, for example the newspapers are talking 100% rubbish when they say a swab was done in 2007, and the man is telling the truth when he says it wasn't, look at the page the lazy papers say is a swab, it's not.
