It was explained in my post which you quoted...IE just answer the questions if there was nothng to hide or potentially incriminating....as I said saying no comment caused her to be suspected MORE, ergo her own fault
So in effect - Kate's Portuguese lawyer didn't know what he was talking about and gave her the wrong advice?
Or he gave her the right advice, but she should have ignored it - and concentrated instead on how it would look to some people if she
did take his advice?
IOW she should have realised that what some members of the public might think of her decision - was far more important than putting herself in danger of being arrested for a crime which she did not commit and thus bringing the search for her daughter to an end. Really?
I'm fairly certain that her lawyer - experienced both in Portuguese law and how the PJ operated, spelled it out to her that if she didn't exercise her right to refuse, then she would be helping the PJ to do exactly that.
IMO to ignore his advice in such circumstances - on the grounds that it might make her look bad - would have been totally insane.
