You may well be right.  My recollection on the point is hazy.

Although the defendants may well have made an offer the McCanns turned down?

He might well have done.  But there was a reluctance to talk about that at the time.

The McCanns asked for a settlement not the defendants.

The McCanns have 30 days, as from today, to present the documentation from the High Court which authorises them to represent Madeleine in the court case.

You said they had 30 days to present the same documents, last Year.

As I understand from what Jean-Pierre has said, if damages awarded are less than the amount sought, Kate and Gerry will cop Amaral's legal expenses as well as their own.

I guess much hinges on those points considered in today's proceedings we just don't know anything about.

Most odd that huge swathes of the judgment has simply been omitted.

Almost suspicious, I would say ...

The Judgement comes later. Drs McCann still have 30 days to provide evidence they had authority to act on behalf of Madeleine provided they have not done so already.
As the "Matters of Fact" were not  read out publicly, allegedly, I expect each side will polish the little bits it likes best of those that fall off the table. 8(>((

Thank heaven for that.  So it won't affect the final payout.

If they had 30 days last year to provide them, I would say the statements of 30 days from today is BS.

Don't thin k the McCanns will have to pay amaral's legal expenses...remember they sought and offered an out of court settlement and as I posted at the time...this goes in their favour when costs are awarded

Quite possibly Freddie DCI. But the press does seem somewhat imprecise on this matter and as is well shown in this forum I don't know A from a bulls foot  8(0(*

Do you mean an out of court settlement in their favour ?

That won't wash in Portugal, judging by what's happened.

So Dave, as to your predictions ........

a very clever move by the mccanns ..as I pointed out at the time....the judge will take this into account when deciding costs

WRONG as usual.

WRONG as usual.

In denial........I wondered how this would be spun...and now I know...if there were twenty points and only 4 have been proved ...amaral wins 16...4...absolutely brilliant....so amaral has won...someone needs to tell him

I'll tell you in two letters how much money the McCann will get from Amaral and the rest of the defendants.

F.A.   *&*%£

and you can take that to the bank. 8)--))
