It would appear the supporters are sticking their fingers in their ears and going la-la-la.

There were going to be a range of possible outcomes from all proven to all not proven, we have 4 proven with large caveats. In any sense of the word, this is not the victory the McCanns wanted.

Hence the desperation on here and elsewhere.

Actually it is becoming quite sad.

Let’s count the months, shall we?

the judge agrees with me ...the book caused damage

Not on the level that compensation should be paid, that's the difference you fail to appreciate.  If the judge had found Amaral culpable then she would just have said so without any clarification.

For the damages 8(0(* You can't just demand 1m, you have to provide evidence. From what we know they presented mainly personal testimony.

We know very little.

Astro left most of the points of consideration blank.

So we can only guess.

But one of my guesses is that Astro knows ...

What medical examination did Lord McAlpine have to undergo when he took Wotssername to court then?

Ah, so it's only in Portugal where medical examinations are necessary in libel actions. I see...

yeah, all apart from the one where she said the book caused a normal amount of damage, the amount you'd expect any book to cause.

If they didn't have to provide such evidence in Lisbon what did all the witnesses go there for?

I reckon that if the McCanns only get 1 million in damages posters here will be calling it a victory for amaral
