I have spent my entire afternoon at my neighbour's house, along with another neighbour, all getting gloriously drunk, and falling about laughing.  Never could you have found three such divergent ex pats.  We don't actually have anything in common beyond the fact that we all gave up on Britain.

Sadly, nothing at all.  But it is the land of my misbegotten birth, and so I go on hoping from across The Channel. 
I was born before the last War, and so I have seen every God awful thing that has been done to Great Britain in the last 75 years.

Actually it is Brittany that is Little Britain.  Not very important in the true order of things.  But it would take me a lifetime to tell you about the kindness and the safety that I experience every day of my life here, and for the last twenty years.

I remain devastated for Great Britain.

Chuka Ummuna resigned, now Tristam Hunt from the Labour leadership race. You don't get 5 minutes to learn about them and they're gone! Apparently Liz Kendall is the latest bookies' favourite.

I reckon a few more will throw their hats in before September.

I reckon a few more will throw their hats in before September.

I would like to see Keir Starmer throw his hat and form a technocracy with the likes of Lord Adair Turner, Sir Terry Leahy, Sir Alex Ferguson, Sir Robert Winston, Sir Paul McCartney, Sir David Attenborough eg individuals that have proven track records in the real world.  Pay them decent salaries/packages and allow them to bring in their own people off-loading  the majority of woolly civil servants in Whitehall.

Some of these people are too intelligent to get  into "politics" and the ragged trade it has become
