Well Gonc certainly has a lot of supporters. Only a small minority act in a cult like way - much the same as a hardcore base of McCann supporters. I for one am glad is he is getting some cash to help mount an appeal. This whole case from a wider perspective is far from over and regardless of what anyone says is still wide open by all accounts. Unless anyone has any insider knowledge that is - please share! Then again I keep hearing whisperings that something might be about to happen - let's see, but my guess is you will all still be hear thrashing this out for the next 6 months at least. Maybe Gonc did it?
If the appeal (mention of which seems to have mysteriously disappeared) is allowed to proceed, I think six months may be a conservative estimate.
Please do not be fooled that Mr Amaral has a host of followers only a few of whom are vociferous in their support; the number contributing to his 'cause' is not remarkable particularly when one considers the repeat donations ... and bears no comparison the campaign raising funds to take legal action against Alistair Carmichael.
Now anyone wishing to see a level legal playing field ... may wish to start up an appeal to do so.
The former Secretary of State for Scotland submitted his defence as campaigners taking him to court reached their fundraising target of £60,000.
Nearly 3,900 people have contributed to the court fund since the effort was set up just over a fortnight ago.http://www.heraldscotland.com/news/home-news/bid-to-unseat-memo-gate-mp-alistair-carmichael-tops-60000.1433863807The cult status achieved by a cop with a criminal conviction associated with a pretty heinous crime as the harbinger of Justice and Truth ... is quite an achievement.
So until one can understand how that situation came about ... the rest of it will remain a mystery. Then 'mystery' is the sum and substance of it all anyway.
B Harrison Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake for theirs is the kingdom of heaven (Matt 5:10) God bless Amaral
