Horses for Courses, Mistaken.  Someone might think twice about doing this again.  And there is nothing ridiculous about thinking Madeleine could still be alive.

Ridiculous referring to search all over the world for 'sightings'.  Supporters will be inundating police with their whacky 'oh look This could be  her pix.

If Maddie turns up alive  some day  that is wonderful- what state she will be in is another story. But it is time to let go and bide time. The parents can take up the investigation themselves- leaving no stone unturned as they claimed long time ago!

The parents were let off with the part they played.

Very interesting technique for finding a missing person ... ignore any possible sightings.  Perhaps we should recommend it to the authorities who publish photographs of missing people in the hope someone may see them.

Or are we only talking - Madeleine McCann here??
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

Just Madeleine, it seems.  Who cares, eh!  Some of us actually do care.  Which seems a far better reason than some have for being here.

But don't mind me.  I am really not important.

The idea that other missing children are being ignored is rather silly. Most missing children are either abducted by parents in custody disputes or are teenage runaways who don't want to be found. there are very very few cases like Maddie...Ben Needham being one

This is something that a lot of people don't seem to understand.  A British child, lost abroad.  Followed by a less than perfect investigation, and shite the like of which beggars belief.
A decidedly corrupt PJ Officer who used the same tactics in the case of another missing child less than five miles away, who has also never been found.  But everyone seems to have given up on her.

No, it hasn't run it's course.  But if it ever does then I expect The McCanns to go on fighting.
Sadly, Leonor Cipriano doesn't have the same resources.

If you had gone missing, would you agree that no one should have looked for you? Carly's just another kid, who cares? Or would you hope that people hadn't given up hope and were still trying to find you?

Over 8 years and no sign of her and no definitive evidence of how she disappeared.

So again how long should the British taxpayer continue to fork out with no results.

Are there any comparable cases ?

Has the tax payer being paying for this for a crime in another country, over which they have no jurisdiction ?

Same question to you.

So there cases where the UK taxpayer has forked out over £10,000,000  for a crime which happened in another country ?

and with zero results.

In which the parents which received government assistance at the highest level ?

There was a long thread on here about jurisdiction. I hope that it's still on here somewhere.

The norm is that the jurisdiction is where a crime was committed.

However, and from memory, this can be open to negotiation in the event of numerous crimes committed in a variety of jurisdictions. Or the person can serve a sentence in one country, be released, and be arrested for crimes committed elsewhere.

If you had gone missing as a kid, and you were being held somewhere against your will, and you were screaming out for someone to rescue you... you'd agree that you should have been given up on as being dead and not worth searching for? Seriously?

You don't know she is being held.

Now how long doyou think the investigation will go on if no trace of Madeleine is found, or the actual cause of her disappearance ?
