I can't help but wonder if the webmaster had been honest about who they have blocked, the representatives of another mother still searching for her child, how 'sympathetic' the folks on FB would be then ?

I'm sure they'd continue to be very understanding, after all the reasons why they were blocked have been explained and have been well supported

IIRC Kerry Needham - as well as Sarah Payne are not strangers to similar abuse at times.   Sarah Payne was forced to close her Twitter account because of the abuse being directed at her.  How cruel is that.

What is social awareness supposed to achieve ?

Raising awareness via social media - it's what McCann seceptics have been busting a gut on twitter to achieve ie spreading the word that the McCanns dunnit.  They tell us that their support is growing day by day, I guess they hope that eventually the sheer force of numbers of sceptics will force the police to cast aside the judicial process and bang the McCs up and throw away the key, or something.  I'm not quite sure actually,,,

In the case of missing people social media can be useful to publicise details of those missing, what they look like, etc, thus raising awareness about their cases.

Why should People be blocked, merely because they don't toe the mccann line.

Worldwide too,  so that part is a bit of a joke, unless they want to reach the vast undiscovered lands across the earth but there's no internet or Facebook there, at least not for the few natives

Now that is an excellent question, unless they are trolling, any innocuous questions should be answered with ease and dealt with, IE what's Scotland yards progress? Good thanks, not "we don't accept questions like that in here" ..but they've decided their page is for prayers, hope, ordering merchandise and publicising other cases

And how cruel is it to block Kerry's tweets publicising her son's disappeance ? Think about how many thousands of retweets that equates to and how much damage that one single act of spite may be causing her campaign to find her son.

For some reason the parents have always been hoisted by ther own petard...perhaps Jeremy paxman was right when he said they reaped a whrlwind, they certainly did, they IMO have made quite a few very bad decisions along the years

Well apparently - according to posters on here -  publicising your missing child year after year is a waste of time anyway.   If Madeleine hasn't been found after 8 years -  then what chance does Ben stand after 23 years?

It seems to me that some people want it both ways i.e. it's wrong for the McCanns to want to keep Madeleine's profile as high as possible for as long as possible - but perfectly fine for Kerry to want to do exactly the same for Ben.

Poor Madeleine - as she is the person they actually want people to forget.
