It is clear that search expert MH spent a great deal of time identifying possible locations where a body might have been concealed. This was the purpose of his survey of PDL by air and on foot in July 2007, as accurately described by Mr Amaral IMO.

Working to the brief Amaral's boss gave him, he investigated that Madeleine had been murdered, so of course he did.

He also dug holes in various places to test whether Madeleine might have been buried (again, at the behest of the PJ).

Key point is, why did Amaral think Harrison wasn't investigating murder?

He was.

That's what the PJ asked him to do.

He followed instructions.

He couldn't (reasonably) do anything else.

... So GA was being less suspicious of the McCanns than the PJ instructions to Mark Harrison would suggest.

No.

Amaral was (attempting to!) cover his own backside because he didn't want to be sued.

By introducing the concept of 'murder', (after the archiving dispatch had made plain that there was no evidence against the McCanns) he would, at least by English libel law, have done the opposite.

Don't know about Portuguese libel law.

You are therefore implying directly that Amaral thought that the mccanns were responsible for Madeleine's death.

He said NO SUCH THING.

Why are you continuing to imply he did.

THAT IS LIBEL.

key words 'some part'.

There is no mention of the 'M' word is there ?

I doubt Amaral had much grasp of Biochemistry/Organic Chemistry.

How about you ?

Amaral alleges that Madeleine was given an overdose of calpol

look at the google cache here

Very top result: an accident with calpol

Does an 'overdose' constitute an attempt  at 'M'  ?

Choose your answer very carefully.

So apprise me ferryman, what would constitute an overdose as regards Calpol ?

Amaral alleges that Madeleine was groggy (from an overdose of calpol) fell off a sofa and died.

Does that constitute the 'M' word ?

So again ferryman, what dosage level would indicate an overdose as regards Calpol ?

As you are more than well aware, it is highly unlikely that Madeleine's fate will ever be determined.

Do you think she is still alive ?

Could well constitute manslaughter
But as part of my initial degree involved pharmacology I can state that calpol does not cause drowsiness

Why do you throw in all these strawmans and deflections?

Earlier you posted

You are therefore implying directly that Amaral thought that the mccanns were responsible for Madeleine's death.

Correct!  Except no imply about it!  Amaral did!

He said NO SUCH THING.

Crap (See above)

Why are you continuing to imply he did.

"Imply" be hanged!  He did

THAT IS LIBEL.

Well strangely enough dave, I have a good grasp of Chemistry/Biochemistry as well.

By the way, why do parents give Calpol to children ?

Calpol is for pain relief (straight paracetomaol) but there is an erroneous belief among some parents that it can also have a sedative effect.

I'm certain the McCanns (as both doctors) were under no such illusion.

In any event, they never used it on that holiday.
