I suppose I am a fence sitter, because I have my doubts that Jeremy alone committed this  even if he was involved at all.
I find it difficult to imagine one person could wipe out a whole family alone.
I do have concerns with the telephone calls, but who is telling the truth?
As far as April is concerned the police are under some pressure to convict someone. I hope they have got it right this time, but I have my doubts.
If he is guilty he will not reveal where he has buried her [because surely she is dead]. He may be hoping that any forensics will be destroyed in the passing of time.
Murders like this should warrent a death penalty. Anyone who murders children should be executed.
I have grandchildren, and if anyone harms them I would gladly swing.

Just reading back through this thread (gosh, you are missed, Cliff. And your dogs, chickens and unfeasibly large testicles) and thinking how civilised and decent we all were to each other. I remember the blue forum being like that, too. It's all got too shouty and adversarial now, basically (imo) due to Gladys and his stunning lack of self-control, mad Mrs H's rampages, and Mike inventing increasingly crazy scenarios. Plus...an elderly woman who makes Pol Pot look like Bonnie Langford. The days of joshing and intelligent debate seem to be long gone.

Got to say this, though (and I've said this to Holl) it is a bit telling that we've got all the cool dudes on this side, and the other side has more than their fair share of tards. With a couple of notable exceptions. Lovely Abs.

Yes, you have to wonder. If it had been established that JB had an accomplice, I would be on the guilty side. Like Buddy, I can´t see him pulling this off all by himself.

With great respect Abs, I think you're looking at the case the wrong way. The mountain of evidence from no gun oil or gun shot residue; clean feet; unchipped fingernails and no bruising; the silencer; etc. etc. prove beyond any doubt Sheila couldn't have murdered her family. It's just physically impossible. Never mind the TWO 'suicide' shots it took (for Jeremy) to kill her!

Never mind either Mugford's testimony or Neville telling Barbara Wilson of his fears that Jeremy would kill him in a staged farming accident! Never mind Bamber's callous behaviour and his greed and arrogance demonstrated throughout the case

However improbable you think it is that Jeremy killed them all alone; if Sheila literally couldn't have done it then Jeremy is guilty beyond a shadow of doubt. Thankfully for the sake of justice Jeremy proved by inventing the phone call from his father that it was either Sheila or him!

I have my doubts about who did it, and frankly, I don´t understand that anyone can have a very firm and fixed opinion on the case, since the crime scene was so  contaminated and the police work so sloppy.

I don´t see that mountain of evidence - it isn´t really there. It is a commonly used phrase about cases with little evidence, I have noticed.
Julie was a dodgy chatacter. Nevill never told BW that he was afraid Jeremy would kill him - he would hardly have allowed him on the farm or in the house if he was. Some words have been twisted into that. Nevill said: "I must never turn my back on that young man." He didn´t say Jeremy, but if he meant Jeremy, it could as well - even more likely - have meant that he considered Jeremy lazy and had to constantly tell him to do his job - this is a common expression in such a context.

I am not here to discuss the Bamber case. I mostly stay away from the Bamber section - you are always called unintelligent if you are not on the guilty side - I don´t like that much.

The 'mountain of evidence' and 'overwhelming circumstantial evidence' were terms used by the trial judge and have been upheld and reinforced by each of the many judges who have reviewed this case. You just refuse to see it!

Julie Mugford has spent her life as a teacher and done a lot of good for many people. Her misfortune of getting tangled up in the web of a sociopathic killer like Bamber when she was a naive young girl doesn't make her a dodgy character in my book!

Perhaps in future when making posts on subjects you don't want replies to you could finish the posts with a 'Do Not Reply' or something to that effect!
