Now there's a surprise.

Can you tell me that the behaviour witnessed by Mrs. Gaspar is normal male behaviour ?

You have failed to grasp the point I am making.

Seated where Dr Gaspar said ... it would not have been possible for her not to have been privy to the conversation between the two men.  If any paedophile reference concerning the two year old daughter of one had been made ... why would she have continued to sit there in tolerance and mute acquiescence?

Why would she allow anyone to have access to her daughter by allowing him to bathe her given harbouring such suspicion?

Bearing in mind there were children in attendance neither Dr Arul Gaspar or anyone else took the slightest bit of notice of what she alleges were inappropriate gestures.

If the Policia Judicairia gave any credence to the alleged incident ... why wasn't it a question included in the rogatory interviews?

"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

Of course they were. The fact that Gerry seemed to listen to what ..... was suggesting without doing him physical would suggest a joint understanding.

We have no idea whether .... ...... was making any suggestions.     Mrs Gaspar does not remember the convo.

IMO common sense alone dictates that if ..... ..... had made a paedaphilic remark about Madeleine to her own father then Gerry would have decked him on the spot and that would have been the end of that friendship.

Ask any father.

The notion that innocence prevails over guilt – when there is no evidence to the contrary – is what separates civilization from barbarism.    Unfortunately, there are remains of barbarism among us.    Until very recently, it headed the PJ in Portimão. I hope he was the last one.

This is getting dangerously close to Libel.  Have a care of what you say.  I will be deleting any posts suggesting Libel against either Gerry McCann or DP.

So you think from her statement that Gaspar believed Gerry was a paedo too?  I don't.

At work so can't read the statements again right now but considering the 2 in question were according to Mrs Gaspar possibly having a joke about some sort of sexual abuse then of course Mrs Gaspar would think Gerry was involved too. Don't u think? And if not, why not? It's a weird conversation imo but in the circumstances Mrs Gaspar could easily be confused and it sounds like she is very uncertain from my recollection of the statement. Hence, the confusion.

I found a comment on the internet which mirrored my own thought about the improbability of Dr Gaspar not hearing what was said in the conversation bearing in mind where she was seated.
It went a little further by pointing out the absolute rudeness of the pair 'talking over' her as if she weren't there.

It made me think about past conversations at dinner tables ~ some of them round as in this tale ~ in a similar situation when people on either side were in conversation.

  • you lean back in your chair ... you hear every word being said ... you participate in the conversation
  • f you are really not interested in either golf or football or rugby or in this case perhaps a medical anecdote, you lean forward to engage in conversation with the person opposite, leaving the two on either side of you in a conversation at your back.  In which case you neither hear their conversation nor do you see their gestures

The whole setting for the scenario as related by Dr Gasper really doesn't work for me.

Yep possibly, but imo I don't think she is lying rather or making stuff up. She has heard a snippet of conversation and it's been taken out of context leading to the wrong conclusions fueled by all the talk at the time in the media it has given her a few sleepless nights and gone to the police I suppose - mere speculation I know.

Males get up to all sorts of frivolity when out together and more so when the beverages are flowing.  You could infer Mrs Gaspar was uncomfortable in their company or a bit of a prude or a party pooper.

Mrs Gasper could have made a mistake. She admits she wasn't sure what was going on. When Madeleine went missing she came forward just in case it helped the investigation. She fulfilled her duty as she saw it by bringing her concerns  to the people best qualified to investigate them. Given her obvious unease I think she did the right thing.

No-one knows what Dr Gaspar saw or why she interpreted it as she did.  A situation which has given internet abuse junkies free reign to traduce and malign in the most horrible manner a person against whom there is not now nor ever has been a shred of suspicion.

Quite obviously you are incapable of addressing the substance of my posts on this matter ... which seems to make what I have posted irrefutable.

No I don't think, because she did not report on anything that Gerry said or did that struck her as odd, plus just being on the receiving end of or in the same room as questionable comments does not infer guilt on the other party, because if it did then the Gaspars would also be in the same boat as Gerry wouldn't they?

I agree she was obligated to report her observations given the circumstances as were Leicestershire Police to pass it on immediately to the PJ. The latter summarily failed!

Everything to do with her statement is "mere speculation" all of it internet led.  The people who really matter ... that is the investigative authorities ... filed it with no further action.

She was right to take her intel to the police ... they were right to look into it (if they did) ... what was very, very wrong ~ from every point of view ~ was for its publication on the internet.

Nothing irrefutable at all.

Not really imo, because she wasn't involved in the conversation as far as I'm aware and it reads like they were having some kind of private in joke. Mrs Gaspar imo interpreted the conversation incorrectly. Seems a logical step to me to assume that if they were having a private joke about something awful then the other party by extension is complicit. Funny old world - off topic but my personal suspicions are the dog alerts may have been planted by certain members of the PJ 2 months after that night. Hence the mass confusion around this case and add in the logistics that night and campaigning for nearly a decade decade since by the parents and plus the charges certain members of the PJ have been convicted of since it becomes more and more probable imo. It's a very confusing case all round...
