There's no grand conspiracy in my theory. Just Mr & Mrs McCann disposing of Madeleine's body & getting away with it. It is the sheer simplicity of the bin theory which makes it the most plausible explanation. No abductor boogey men lurking in the shadows, staking out the McCanns apartment for days, extra abductors & getaway vehicles & so on. All too convoluted. No, it is the simplest explanation that is usually correct in life. She died in the apartment, Gerry took her out on his 9pm check, recovered her after suggesting everyone split up & search, then he passed the Smith family with a Maddie who wasn't looking too well & dressed in the wrong pyjamas, then he disposed of her. Unfortunately a lot of gullible idiots fell for it. The McCanns capitalised on the moral panic around paedophiles & used it to their advantage. Mr Mccann phoning someone back home & telling them that gangs of Portuguese paedophiles had busted open the window & snatched Maddie. The case will never be 'solved' because Maddie is simply unrecoverable. But that doesn't mean it isn't obvious the Mccanns did it. Well it is to me anyway.
