Right let's cut the bullshit.  You know that Matt Oldfield does not give a precise time for Kate raising the alarm in his second statement, only suggests that she left the table at 9.50pm.  He does not say how many minutes elapsed between her leaving and her coming back.  So, lets say it took her a minute to walk there and maybe three or 4 minutes to search for Madeleine before becoming hysterical and running back.  That takes us to roughly 9.55pm.  Now pick up the narrative, with estimated timings for each stage of Gerry's movements from that point, given that the Smiths say they saw the man at about 10pm.

All the timings are based on estimates VS & can only ever be. Apart from Gerry's very specific 10:03pm for some reason.

But we do know.....

There is evidence the alarm was raised before 10pm.

Evidence Gerry suggested they split up & search, see if she just wandered off, even though Gerry knew it was impossible for her to have done so.

And evidence Gerry was seen by the Smiths, carrying a disabled Maddie, around the time they were suspected to be faking an abduction because Maddie was dead.

Half and hour later without anything to signal, it being 22h03, he turned to alert KATE that it was time for her to go to see the children.
