It's entirely possible, therefore there is no reason to disbelieve it Merc
If it's a lie you should be able to offer some sort of evidence that it's a lie.
Instead of just saying "Oh there's no evidence it's a lie but it might be a lie anyway".

Cant believe you said that

I never said it was a lie so I do not have to provide any evidence of

But you cannot state that a witnesses statement fits the facts ...and that she is honest...how the heck would you know anyway....it only fits a possibility and thats it in essence...
you have no evidence really or proof that it was not staged as a top uk forensic expert suggested it might be

@Pegasus
How far back do you think the net curtain had been drawn to enable the fingerprints of KM to be clearly identifiable on the window glass?
Do you think that would have been possible from outside the window?

Net curtains are almost weightless Misty they can be pushed aside effortlessly (even while they remain fully closed at the top).

Net curtains do not slide along a rod or cable particularly easily to an open position.
If Kate had to push the nets to one side with her left hand to look out the window, how did her prints get on the glass?

There is no need to slide the net curtains along a rod or wire Misty they part easily without any need to do that.
Remember only the right half of the window-opening of the wall was open. The witness would effortlessly push the right net to the right with her right arm or hand.

The key point is that the window and shutter being opened from outside fully explains why the child disappeared from that bedroom.

That would leave the left hand net hanging down in front of the window, forming a barrier between hand & glass.
(My nets at 66" x 44" small windows are one piece, not two)

The theory of a key to the front door & an abductor opening the window from inside fully explains not only why the child disappeared from the bedroom but also from the apartment.

Not a barrier Misty. An almost weightless bit of material that is effortlessly pushed aside.

This is not a window that opens completely. And it has no hinges. When open, both panes occupy the left half (viewed from inside) of the wall hole.

Sorry - but can you not see what I'm driving at? If Kate had pushed back the r/h curtain to look out the open part of the window, why would she bother pushing back the left hand curtain? It would just hang down the pane & be a barrier between the glass & her fingerprints. Don't forget the position of the main left hand curtain.

No because in your scenario of an abductor entering via the wooden door, it would be a completely pointless waste of time for him to open the window and shutter. He would just grab the child and leave by the wooden door.

In your scenario exactly where is the child while your abductor is opening the window and shutter? On the bed? Then why doesn't the child run to another room?

The child is on top of the bed, sedated, having been lifted from under the covers as per how she was put to bed by KM.
The process was interrupted by GM returning unexpectedly & the intruder had to hide in the parents' bedroom. (Door move 1). The intruder could not leave by the front door because he/she would be seen from the lounge.
After GM had left, the window & shutters were opened from the inside (exact reason unclear).
Intruder leaves by front door - bedroom door move 2 - and the curtains are now tinged green by the exterior street light shining through the open shutter as seen by MO.
Just my opinion. Child possibly then taken up to 5J for change of clothes & hair alteration.

what is your constructive alternative Misty? What in your scenario happened to produce prints on the glass?

Just that the nets were pulled right back, but from the inside. I don't think it would have been possible to do that from the outside, given the height of the window from the ground. That would have resulted in no barrier to the glass.
Were KM's fingerprints vertical or horizontal to the window sill? I can't make head nor tail of the forensics.
