In the the links Heri posted the videos were chilling ... the children were so trusting it was heart breaking to watch.

The children allowed a stranger entry to their homes.  The puppies were irresistible and the children walked away quite happily with a stranger.

I agree that Madeleine may have initially found it odd for a stranger to appear at her window, but if that person enticed her towards the window by saying her mummy wanted to see her ... groggy with sleep it is possible she approached to be lifted through.

The bit nobody can answer though is how did she become unconscious or appear to be asleep.  I wasn't aware that burglars routinely carried chloroform with them just in case they decided on a career change.

None of the suspects physically match the efits of either man seen carrying a sleeping child.

Good point John. I assume you are referring to the Smith sighting (the girl they saw was asleep with eyes closed). It would be a strange burglar who carries, just in case of an unanticipated career change, not only chloroform, but also a long-sleeved child's top.

Unless the police know the content of those phone calls or the men questioned claimed they were elsewhere when the phone records prove they were in PDL I'm not entirely sure how simply calling each other that night would prove anything.
