I think you will find electricity is realtively cheap in portugal... I suggest you check your facts thoroughly before posting in future...anyone who is not familiar with the relative price structure of energy in the EU is poorly educated...imo...LOL

So?
I will put it another way.
What size kin motor in kilotwots do you think a key cutter has ?
Then work out the power it consumes in cutting a key which will be less than the motors plated power then use any countries price per kWh and you will find the energy to cut a key is practically FA.
So in the real world what would happen would be the sum of about 500 euros would be bunged in as lump sum to do the key cutting bit including buying the machine, a few blanks and power costs. Quite why you would want to buy your own key cutter is a bit beyond me. Some one who buys a key cutter will be remembered whereas someone having a key cut in the PT version of Timsons will be virtually unnoticed. But hey don't let little things like reality get in the way of a good conspiracy.

True.

So around 2012/13 we have evidence that the local ironmonger could cut keys easily.

Plus the cleaners could go off site at lunchtime, without handing keys back in.

Is there a jot of evidence that key control in the OC was secure?

Cos there is a bucketload it wasn't.

I don't suppose there was anything to stop a cleaner or maintenance worker from nipping into the ironmongers to get a key cut. They would need to be approached; 'Psst! get me a key cut will you?' 'Which key?' 'G5A' 'What for?' 'My boss wants one of the kids/ I want to break in and steal their goods/ any other excuse that suits' 'Get lost, it's more than my job's worth and I'm going to tell'. Risky.

Receptionists, booking and office staff had probably got access to keys, but less of an excuse to take them off the office premises. If they were needed and they weren't there was the risk for these people. The higher up the food chain the less likely to be challenged, but often longer service with the company so more to lose.

Heri did it without having a key to be cut.
What's up, old man?

When the child heard and saw someone opening her shutter and window she would have acted intelligently and run away from her shutter and window.

Agreed ridiculous and no evidence to support any of it except for my theory of course which fits with everything that happened. I've got no doubts. Everything has been investigated except the last one. There's only one!

Smithman carrying a child in his arms checked his watch after passing the Smith family and the time was 10:03. Both are still unidentified 10 years later.

Smithman is definitely being avoided it seems

Smithman is definitely being avoided it seems

He is avoided at all costs but has to be the last lead. There's no other credible one in this case.

Many are being manufactured though as we speak, i mean how many suspects can you have, or rather is there anyone who is not a suspect, it does get a tad ridiculous at the very least after a while when y have a prime suspect and no one is tryng figure out who it is, and totally ignored more or less by the mccanns too!!! bizarre

Ok , thats me, bye for now

If you know why she was carried away then all the contradictions fit. She has to be alive if not found but we were repeatedly told who would be blamed if she was.

A cleaner need not even be aware. Keys can be nicked, copied and put back in a handbag or jacket pocket and the cleaner would never notice a thing.

There is also the potential issue of guests leaving a key under a doormat for fellow guests.

I do have knowledge in this area having purchased my own key cutting machine for personal use some yeras ago...so I am speaking from experience

Are you suggesting that someone followed Maria Julia Serafim da Silva around waiting for an opportunity to dive into her pocket/handbag, find and take the keys to G5A, trot off and get a key cut, came back, find the cleaner again and put the originals back without her noticing? Please!

There is no record of the McCanns leaving their keys under any doormat.

No one seems to have asked where the cleaner had lunch. Keys left in a jacket on a hook in a café over lunch would be easy. In any case, everybody and their brother apparently knew the access code to the key box, so keys could have been nicked any time.

I don't know whether the McCanns left the key under a mat, but I would have thought it would have been mentioned somewhere if they had. We don't know whether previous occupants did or not.

So you should find it easy to tell me the plated motor power then.
Although had you been paying attention you would have noticed many posts ago SiL gave an indication of the order of running costs.
