Just because it hasn't been mentioned in the press, doesn't mean necessarily that Mr Kennedy wasn't able to pass on a better description of who he saw and wrestled with to the police.

This must have been a shocking incident for the child and the parent involved.  The fact that the attempted snatch actually resulted in a scuffle on the floor of the hotel lobby is extremely concerning.  I have a feeling there is much more to this story than is published in the Press reports.  Mr Kennedy only had to contact the British Embassy if as he claims his report wasn't being taken seriously enough by the local police.
A malicious prosecution for a crime which never existed. An exposé of egregious malfeasance by public officials.
Indeed, the truth never changes with the passage of time.

OK, I've forgotten the name of the paper and the reporter who broke this story, but I do remember photos of the family, and a close-up of the child allegedly showing the friction burn scab on his heel.  Was the photographer competent in getting the photos, while the reporter was incompetent in getting such a basic description of the man?

And to ask again, has anyone got an idea how the victims and the paper made contact?  I doubt for a moment the paper sits on TripAdvisor looking for bad reviews.  However, contact was definitely made.
What's up, old man?

I gave you the twitter details of the reporter a few posts ago to enable you to contact him and quiz him about these details.  If you don't have twitter I will look for his e-mail address for you if this helps.

I don't see what the difference is how the newspaper came by the report.
TripAdvisor was used by the parents to publicise what had happened to them and as a warning to other parents.
If they have a FB profile they probably publicised the event there too.
They no doubt contacted the newspaper for the reason of raising awareness.  No point in them coming forward at some time in the future if another child has been seized in a similar way to tell their story after the event.

Do you really think this couple are after their fifteen minutes of fame and have fabricated this story to that end?
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

Reputedly 'burly'.

Quite some feat to fight off this burly giant whilst at the same time hanging on to your child.
Fear of his son being stolen would make any father "superstrong".

Even the struggling little boy might have created quite a problem  for the abductor; he had only one hand to defend himself with

Bet there was a hell of a racket .... and the abductor knew not to hang around in case anyone appeared.

I can understand how the father might have beaten a one handed semi giant in the circumstances.

But then some of you cannot bring yourselves to believe anything that might add weight to Madeleine having been abducted, can you ?

Very strange .... VERY

Why on earth would this incident add any weight to this case...Madeleine wasnt travelling in a lift with her parents, and get accosted by a mad person,  her parents were nowhere near her

With all due respect, Brietta, I don't think newspaper reporters monitor TripAdvisor, nor do they follow people they have never heard of on Twitter or Facebook.  Those connections cannot be ruled out as someone who knows the family may have heard that way and forwarded it to the reporter.

"They no doubt contacted the newspaper for the reason of raising awareness."  This attributes both an action and a motive to the family, without evidence to support either.

This story is still stuck with no more than the same information in 2 red tops, plus a re-hash in a regional English paper in southern Spain.  Why have no heavyweight newspapers touched this alleged scandal?

it's you asking all the unanswerable questions on here, if you want to know what went on ask someone who might be able to fill you in, not us.

Abduction from a building, which seems to upset some of you.

Both cases in what appears an impossible scenario .... according to some of you.  Your side says the abduction of Madeleine is impossible, when it clearly is possible, with an unidentified man twice seen walking fast and carrying a little girl in the area at a pertinent time.

The man was NOT walking FROM the direction of a crèche, so it makes one wonder where he was walking from ?

No Smithman was not coming from a crèche.

Some people on this forum have followed Amaral and will not accept that abduction is possible.  When it suits you, mercury, you have a short memory.

In future address the post, NOT the poster ... and STOP calling me silly.  That is abuse.

I do not keep abusing you, although at times I would like to.

Dont accuse people of abuse by commenting your cmments are silly, you posted the upset comment , not just to me or one person, but a whole heap of people,  is in itself abusive by your terms and more

I and Im sure many others are NOT upset that a little boy was attempted to be snatched, because it proves its possible, its very abusive of you to even suggest it, hope you can now see

Fact remains it has no smilarity with Madeleines fate

As for dictating to me how I should post, perhaps you might want to revisit your posts whch almost always contain ad homs goads and accusations, pot kettle dear

how do you know smithman was not comng from the creche? It was the right direction as opposed to crecheman

As for following Amaral that is such a weak argument it deserves no comment
