The thing is Stephen, when posters of a missing child is taken down after so many years even in Britain,  it rarely has anything to do with the parents,  it's more to do with the fact that time has past and the residents feel that it should not be a reminder anymore.

Can you blame them, after all this time.

I presume that (e.g.) Soham doesn't want to be solely and perpetually associated with what happened there, either.

That said, and however sad it is, the fate of those poor girls is now known.

The fate of Madeleine isn't.

Tangentially, and I'm sure that you will disagree... but I can't find any tangible evidence (aside from those "confessions") as to what happened to Joana, either. Perhaps one day, it will emerge that the mother and brother were indeed responsible. However - so far - and IMO, the prosecution case was a farce and should never have gone to court in the first place.

As I have said before, I don't believe Madeleine's fate, or how she disappeared will ever be known.

As I said in my previous post,  no I don't blame them,  though Madeleine will be remembered whether there are posters or not.

I do hope that whatever happened to Madeleine will eventually come to light (whatever that turns out to be).

My point was actually in agreement with the idea that the people of PdL don't want to be permanently associated with Madeleine's disappearance.

On the other hand, I don't find spray-painting unpleasant graffitti when a child is still missing (including obliterating the police contact number on a billboard) to be particularly constructive.

I can understand the locals being somewhat annoyed if seemingly there is a never ending circus at a certain time of year. It would be like having the same sort of circus at Saddleworth and Cannock every year.

Please note that this is a new thread.
A malicious prosecution for a crime which never existed. An exposé of egregious malfeasance by public officials.
Indeed, the truth never changes with the passage of time.

In the small sample I checked (two = me and mine) neither of us personally has seen any Madeleine posters up in Luz in the 4.5 years we have been here.

We missed the Sun ones after Crimewatch 2013 and we are not church-goers, but hey, nobody's perfect
What's up, old man?
