leaving children alone is not common but thousands have certainly done it

Lots of people speed. Never works as a defence.

For people who don't need a defence, they have certainly employed a lot of defenders.

More accurately for people who have done nothing wrong, they haven't half been accused of far too much, and that's why they needed to recourse to those who can defend them.

This case, it started and rests with the Mccanns. No third party has been found to be in that apartment on the night of the 3 rd May, 2007.

Brietta

Read what I said last night.

It would help.

Likewise, you have yet to apologize for saying I was saying Gerry Mccann's remarks were a myth.

They weren't, were they.

..and for good measure, the site I found last night

No doubt there are those who think the thousands of letters of support received by the McCanns are also part of some devious conspiracy.

Too daft for words.

IMO

The notion that innocence prevails over guilt – when there is no evidence to the contrary – is what separates civilization from barbarism.    Unfortunately, there are remains of barbarism among us.    Until very recently, it headed the PJ in Portimão. I hope he was the last one.

They were like in the back garden to their apartment davel.  You should go and see, but I hope you will chose a time when the bushes have been freshly cut back ... as was the case when the Mccanns were there.  Greenery grows amazingly quickly on the Algarve and quickly blocks off lines of sight

So we are agreed then.

Gerry Mccann has claimed that many people did the same as the mccanns did, and there is absolutely nothing in the way of verification, as with so many aspects of this case.

Thousands are bloody lucky they got away with it then.

People can be very trusting when on hoilday especially whenever their guard is down.  Leaving very young children alone is never a good idea in any environment and in my opinion any parent who does so is taking an unnecessary risk.  Better safe than sorry imo.

Even when the most basic rules are followed to the letter the little mites can clear off at the first opportunity as I experienced with my eldest, then 3, on Palma beach.  Boy did I get a scolding from the Spanish cops.

Parenting is fraught with hazards, all we can do is our best.

A malicious prosecution for a crime which never existed. An exposé of egregious malfeasance by public officials.
Indeed, the truth never changes with the passage of time.

That Angelo is the nub of it.

Yet some people appear to still think it is OK to do what the Mccanns did.

There is an alternative to that proposition, which I find more credible....... 8(0(*
