No wonder offenders seem to relish being put away in warm cosy cat A/B prisons when the following testament is posted on the PICTA (Prisons Information Communication Technology Academy) website..... all wrong imo!!!
Phil Peskett HW9749
We had to start from the beginning learning how a computer works and how to use the well known software in the Office Suite. This basic computer course is known as ECDL (European Computer Diving Licence) [sic], Which is a great tool for Further Education. I found it very interesting and easy to follow, the trainers were there to help if there were any problems and there was no pressure to finish within a given time.
I’ve been in prison for over 2 years now and know this is as good as it gets: being able to work with computers, creating music with other accomplished musicians and producers.
The set up is very basic but the results are respectful. It sounds strange but I am quite excited about being at Swaleside at the moment because I am able to do something that I really love and maybe carry these job prospects with me for my eventual release.
Bamber has recently written...,
I was only 24 when I came to jail, no different from any other young man in being interested engineering, computers and technology. The world was changing rapidly, debate about using a computer for farming was discussed at N & J Bamber and had I not lost my family in the tragedy at White House farm and had I not come to prison, we would certainly have developed our business using computing.
And yet according to Roger Wilkes in interviews with Barbara Wilson, "Jeremy Bamber joked about installing a computer and making her redundant... he'd written of for sales literature, but being a sentimental man who clung to reminders of his past, Nevill Bamber successfully resisted the change until the day he died".

No friction there then! .... now who do you believe?
