Where do you get the idea that the McCann's have always classed Amaral as a threat?

They took him to court because he was claiming that Madeleine was dead,  when he had no definite proof that she was.

Absolutely true

Many cold cases run into years of investigation,  sometimes filed away again and then reopened years later.  Some even have new evidence after many years.

We must remember this case doesn't belong to Operation Grange. The case belongs to the Portuguese authorities who are the ones with the right to investigate and prosecute. Operation Grange are working in support of the re-opened Portuguese investigation.

It is quite obvious that he is hinting that someone killed his dog, an omen, a sign.    He says his wife didn't want him to continue because it was dangerous she was fearing for her children[for some reason]  then Amaral goes on to say, he has to continue for justice for Madeleine.

If not an accusation then why put it in his book?

I agree but unconnected with the McCanns.  What Sofia was really worried about was the possibility that the local mafia were somehow involved and exposing them brought great risk for him and his family.  Only those who have lived and worked on the Iberian peninsula realise to what extent local mafia's control things.

I know it's awfully boring sticking to the thread theme guys but have a thought for the poor reader if we all keep doing our own thing and going off at a tangent.

Please keep to the subject under discussion.  TY

It is when I get sin-bin points and my post removed for expanding on the truth, yes!
