Different countries different rules.
The American, for example publish all sorts of  contemporary public documents that in this country would have at least a 30 year delay before publication
The Americans also legally murder individuals with lethal injections in some states, causing them long, protracted and painful deaths.  Not very civilized either, IMO.

Well as has been said, straight away she assumed that Madeleine had been taken, this I suggest is her worst fear as it would be for any parent.

At that time the shutters, door etc. were not indicative, but let's be clear we are talking within a specific timeframe. The only thing that would be indicative at this precise time would be a witness seen making their way away from the apartment with a child that was Madeleine. I think under those circumstances, at that precise time, Kate would be well founded in believing that Madeleine had been abducted.

As such, there is no evidence indicating what happened to Madeleine, hence why the investigation is somewhat at a standstill. The Scotland Yard enquiry runs out at the end of this month so it will be interesting to see what, if any conclusions they are able to publish.

Kate didn't know about tannerman until later?

From what I remember you are correct, Jane mentioned what she saw some considerable hours late. However in my post above I was talking hypothetically in that had Kate, or anyone for that matter, at that precise time see someone making it off with a Madeleine then she would be able to say for certainty that she had been abducted.

Of course it has not been demonstrated that anyone did see Madeleine being made off with.

Yes, absolutely true, it is just a theory

But how do you get the proof of abduction to back the theory?

I would believe that the best opportunity to gather evidence for the abduction would have been the night she disappeared and with the crime scene locked down. Unfortunately this didn't happen most likely because the apartment was not being considered a crime scene at that time.

Where such proof would come from nearly ten years on really does escape me, unless Madeleine is found or someone confesses to involvement.

I agree it is essential to find her.  or more correctly I hope she finds herself for I haven't the foggiest clue as to where to start looking.

No just common sense, I'd say.

So rob, not one sign of her since she disappeared and you think it is commonsense she will be found.

Have you been reading any Lewis Carroll stories ?

I meant she will have to realise who she could possibly be, so someone can discover the facts.  Maybe there is a 13 year old out there with doubts about "her parents" and with thoughts that she could be "the McCann girl".

This is a good point and one that I have often considered, would she be able to remember her real parents if she had been living all this time with another family and culture?

It's the old one about the tourist in Ireland who asks one of the locals for directions to Dublin. The Irishman replies: ‘Well sir, if I were you, I wouldn’t start from here’.
