I think the problem with Amaral's book is that he mixes fact with opinion which is never a good basis for any book about real life events. If Madeleine was abducted, and it is still a very big 'IF', then only the person or persons involved know the truth of it.  If she wasn't abducted and disappeared due to some terrible accident then the mystery could well endure for ever.

My own view is that he was wrong to explore his thesis within "The Truth of the Lie" and should have stayed with the known facts and the evidence.  By doing this in a methodical manner he could have left it to readers to come to their own conclusions thus avoiding litigation and a book ban in the UK and elsewhere.  That to me would have served him and the truth much better.

There is a much bigger story yet to be told, maybe he intends to touch on that in his new book?

And should not have presented speculation as fact

Even the title of his book is Libellous.

The thread title is a little misleading given that according to the Express Mr Amaral had already written his book back in May of last year.
A rehash of a non story.

Madeleine McCann's name sells books.

Apparently Amaral’s next book is to mark a return to the genesis of his literary career.  It seems his intention is to once more exploit and capitalise on the use of Madeleine McCann's name and her pulling power.

One can only speculate why.

Amaral's first book contains many blatant inaccuracies.  There seemed to be an obsession with an opportunistic full frontal assault on the reputation of Madeleine’s parent than much else. Nothing that could be classed as definitive as far as Madeleine herself was concerned except the reinforcement of his opinion of her demise.

Nonetheless that book hit the jackpot for him.  No wonder his eagerness to write another best seller.
It must be very enticing indeed to reprise and further reduce Madeleine McCann to the commodity for his personal enrichment by writing another book featured on her. Basically he can say what he likes.

Particularly as he has proved that anything goes when his rights are weighed against the rights of anyone he may choose to injure with his pen.

There might have been supposed a measure of ‘authority’ first time round when he embarked on his literary career resulting from his involvement in the case.
He has no such ‘authority’ now either real or imagined.  Nor should he have any knowledge of Madeleine’s case, certainly not enough to author a book, by legitimate means.

Amaral has had as much right or access to inside information about Madeleine's case as any poster to this forum.

That is none.
What exactly is he going to write about if he intends to make further use of Madeleine’s name to further his own ends?
How can anything he has to say about Madeleine’s case have any relevance whatsoever.  His proposed book cannot possibly consist of anything of relevance to Madeleine McCann since the case review stage to the present day.

Maybe another hatchet job on her parents?

Time will tell.

The timeline of events on the evening and night of May 3, 2007, has been examined by Mr Amaral, minute by minute, for a significant part of the book.

A minute by minute timeline will be very useful to my research especially if he starts his timeline from prior to 9:00 PM.
Too many of the important statements start at 10:30 or thereabouts.

Perhaps he might take time out to explain why he dismissed information out of hand.  He can tell his audience if it received even a cursory glance or was it contemptuously ignored and lost.  It would be useful information enable an assessment of what got in the way of information gathering and evaluation.  What criteria did Amaral use?
Was it along the lines of if it matches the theory Amaral decided upon on the 4th it must be kosher ... defiled and to be ignored if it runs contrary to his train of thought?

Amaral

It seems that in the intervening years since he botched Madeleine's case he has learned no humility about that.

The return of the groundhog man is imminent it seems.
