right    and he has always said they are innocent without proof  has he not??

He doesn't need proof to have a belief, but from a forum discussion POV it helps.

It's a bit like stating the McCanns innocence or guilt without supporting information.

There is no real evidence of guilt and they have never been arrested so that alone would suggest innocence
And then we have everything else
Certainly on the balance of probabilities they are innocent so that is proof

Not being arrested, is not proof of innocence.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/madeleinemccann/2439530/Madeleine-McCann-Kate-and-Gerry-cleared-of-arguido-status-by-Portuguese-police.html
"Fourteen months after she disappeared, Portugal's attorney-general, Fernando Jose Pinto Monteiro, said the police had found no evidence linking the McCanns, or fellow suspect Robert Murat, to Madeleine's suspected abduction.
"The case involving Madeleine McCann will be shelved following the decision by the two magistrates in charge that no evidence was found to implicate the arguidos," his statement read."

Portugal's attorney-general, Fernando Jose Pinto Monteiro, said the police had found no evidence linking the McCanns,.... that must mean they are entitled to claim they are innocent.

Read the Portuguese Supreme Court judgement.

It really would help.

No one has denied them the right to be considered innocent, the judges just corrected Duarte's mistaken belief that they had been cleared.
Saying they have not been cleared is the same as saying they have not proved their innocence and implies they are still suspects which clearly they are not.  And the same judgement would also apply to Murat.  What do the sceptics think about him not being cleared?

I'm just wondering if there was no evidence when they were cleared of the arguido status but the SC thinks there was evidence against the McCanns who is telling us the truth?

Their arguida status can be re-activated for up to 20 years, as it would for anyone subject to that status.

They have done the test and they were inconclusive.

Try to learn.

Fair enough but there needs to be a reason to apply the arguido status, and if there was no evidence then, what have they got now?

At that time. A fresh analysis with more advanced techniques might produce something interpretable.

we don't know what word Duarte used
What we do know is the McCanns have never been formally accused of anything so have not had chance to be cleared in the eyes of the law
The Supreme Court have denied them their right to be considered innocent and will be corrected by the ECHR
The Portuguese legal system has no respect for justice and that's why there was no chance of Maddie ever getting jusstice
The sceptics seem more interested in bashing the McCanns than seeing justice for Maddie
Only the McCanns and OG are looking for this

That's a pretty neat summation.

Not forgetting the PJ who have over all primacy in this.
