I don't want to be putting any ideas in anyone's head but wouldn't some form of commemoration be appropriate in Praia da Luz on the 3rd May 2017?  Maybe Amaral and a few others could come along?

I think it would be lovely for the tenth anniversary of Madeleine's disappearance to be marked quietly and thoughtfully in Praia da Luz.  There must be many still there who participated in the original searches for her.

There is the attendant drawback of course or is she not considered part of "The McCann Circus".
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

I am just going to light a candle.

I really would like it to be possible to see John's suggestion being taken up in Praia da Luz with all the baggage set to one side just for a few hours.
Nothing elaborate ... maybe just the church doors being open for people to visit and give some thought to her for a few minutes.  Just lighting a candle for her would do it ... it could be a cathartic experience.

Good idea, Eleanor, I'm going to copy it and light one too.

I wouldn't if I were you.  You might find yourself in serious trouble, in the light of recent events.

Bonfires are no longer allowed in France.

We've had rain just about everyday this summer.  No fire danger here.

You can't beat a proper Candle.  Providing you don't set the house on fire.

Judging by the photos I have seen of the congregation, electric chairs to raise aged bones up and out of the pews would be considered a boon.
