...and that was released after the Supreme Court Decision, and increased antipathy for the McCann's.

I can understand how the timing can viewed cynically, again though it is down to personal interpretation as to whether it was timed to counter the Supreme Court decision or not.

Fair enough, although it's not PR as such if the intention was there and it hasn't been released to the public knowledge until now. That does tend to suggest their motives were honourable

We knew as you have correctly found in this article that Matthews approached the McCanns but I don't think we were aware that Mr and Mrs McCann were going to offer her some money. Quite a considerable amount. Hasn't that detail only just come out and also that the police advised them not to?
