The differences between the Maddie and the Ben cases are startling.  Kerry Needham is an inspiration frankly.

agree  ben vanished   and it  wasnt her  fault  and she was  19 not  35 like kate

There's a case in Scotland where the young lad disappeared in 1976 and his case is still open

Yes and?
The point is. Madeliene went missing in Portugual, it is a portuguese investivgation.
I have no problem with cases being 'open' awaiting further new information. I have  a problem with spending millions of hard earned cash on one child when many thousands are relying on food banks. It really is a disgrace.

The Portuguese have primacy in this case. I think sometimes supporters forget that.
What has that got to do with the post I wrote that you replied to?

When a case has been investigated for seven years with no result carrying on seems like a waste of resources to me. There's no sign of progress so no sign of success. If the situation changes the investigation can always be resumed.
Just because no one has informed you of what progress has been made in this case doesn't mean there hasn't been any.

I'm not offended or worried, what strange ideas. If I thought that Operation Grange were following productive lines of investigation I would be very pleased, but they have been credited with imminent success too many times for me to have much faith in their abilities. I can't assess the PJ investigation as they have very wisely kept their activities to themselves.
Who has credited them with imminent success too many times?  The Met themselves?

I have seen no signs of progress, unless 'maybe' identifying Tannerman counts. The four of them may be hot on the heels of someone, but I doubt it.

And the Tannerman was THE case for the' abductioneers'. That blown- it opened up a whole new timeline well an better reported, timeline, very few peole who were not 'smitten' by the 'mccanmania' found it incredible that JT could walk past two men chatting  and they don't notice her or the 'abductor'  only for the reason  she forgot to mention this when kate was screaming 'daughter' is gone. they all went to 'look' for her knowing an abductor had snatched her... oh scarie movie spoof.

I think the support for the SY investigation is more nationalistic. As posted elsewhere...

That's why I thought I'd jump on board and try real hard while the case is still active.

What sort of signs of progress would you expect to see, in an investigation which always said it would not be giving a running commentary?

If that is correct and has been observed then scratch the recent Mirror article.
