Until The Police speak to him again they won't know if he's the abductor or not.  And perhaps not even then.

Besides, you know the press releases that you all so despise.  "This Person is not a Suspect."  Tick Tock.

It is merely straw clutching.

Tick-tock, until the case is shelved again.

I think you'll find the tide has turned, Stephen.  The Police are after an abductor or two.

I don't think the tide has turned one iota.

The case will be shelved.

Not really.

Case shelved, and no matter any bluster to the contrary, case not solved.

First the investigation was reopened in 2013
That's not quite 3 and a half years
So where is your 6 yrs coming from

First Operation grange was set up in 2011,it started out as a review but the wording clearly states,

Quote
Whilst ordinarily a review has no investigative remit whatsoever- the scale and extent of this enquiry cannot permit for such an approach.

so where does your 2013 come from?

wake up

the case was reopened by the portuguese in 2013

then if SY want to ask any questions of suspects they have to make an ILOR which seems to take about 6 months to process.....any further questions another ILOR...another 6 months

thats why its taken so long

The OP

'Police are searching for a resort worker who they claim 'kept secrets' from them during the initial investigation into Madeleine McCann's disappearance.
An insider has revealed officers are searching for a Portuguese man who was nearby when the three-year-old went missing while on holiday in the Ocean Club resort in Praia da Luz, Portugal, in 2007.
A Portuguese police source told the Daily Mirror: ‘This Portuguese man used to work at the club resort, he speaks a bit of English.'

'Kept secrets'. That certainly sounds as if he knew the value of the information sought.
Not necessarily, it may have been information that had he divulged it would have seen him banged up for other crime(s).

Also,

Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley and Det Ch Insp Andy Redwood met senior Portuguese police in Lisbon last Thursday for a briefing on the new lines of enquiry, which are "separate" to those being followed by the Met

So once again where does 2013 come from for OG.

That's about the long and short of it I guess. Tell me, how do you think you are going to advance the case?
The point at issue was a simple matter of manhours bodies and CPA.
There is nothing earth shattering or complex about that.
I don't know all the answers but I'm thinking you are going to be part of it, you are going to help me advance the case because of your connections somehow.

Well, could they conduct any investigations in the country where Madeleine went missing until then?
