No-one is suggesting he kidnapped a child.

Sorry but I thought we were responding to this:

During his probe, paid for by the Find Madeleine Fund, Mr Edgar’s small team of investigators examined a number of potential suspects, including two of the most high profile names on the list, Raymond Hewlett and Euclides Monteiro.

A malicious prosecution for a crime which never existed. An exposé of egregious malfeasance by public officials.

FOI response from the Met dated 21 Dec 2015.

"Operation Grange is an ongoing MPS 'investigative review' of the investigation(s) that have been conducted into the circumstances of Madeleine McCann's disappearance."
No mention of abduction ..... now it's disappearance
Your idea that the McCanns are off limits is ridiculous

I can agree with some of that Brietta but I don't believe anyone removed her from the apartment.  Like Exton I believe she left the apartment under her own steam but got into trouble thereafter. I personally don't think she survived but like you I think she can be found nearby.  That said however, the family have to maintain hope and it is hope which takes them forward.

Too much of a coincidence, John, that she should have walked from her bedroom directly into the arms of an abductor ... it disregards eye witness evidence of a child being carried away from that location and eye witness evidence that there had been intrusion in the apartment.
Neither was there evidence that she had met with a fatal accident either within or outwith the residence.
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

You misunderstand.  One theory is that she was hit by a motor vehicle of some sort and died at the scene.  The driver panicked and carried her off.  He was not an abductor per sé.

Like the abduction from the apartment theory it is unsupported by eyewitness evidence but remains a very valid possibility given that the GNR tracker dogs followed her scent across the road opposite mini reception where it inexplicably terminated.

Whether he does or not is immaterial, one swallow does not make a summer.

Which language do you think US and UK movies and TV shows are broadcast in here?

When 2 of the 3 major TV broadcasting channels wanted to buy the broadcasting right to Crimewatch 2013, which language do you think it would have been aired in?

Hate to nit pick ... but you are a major critic of the lack of information distributed in the Portuguese language.

A bit more twisting and turning.

Your claim was that the remit was for a review, not an investigation.

I have simply pointed out that in Dec 2015, OG was considered to be a review.

Therefore the remit covers OG, and is restricted to an abduction.
What's up, old man?

It is nit picking.  You chose not to answer the points raised.

But I will answer your point.  Given that the Portuguese TV channels could not get their hands on Crimewatch, just what is it you think should be distributed in Portuguese or in English, within Portugal?

It makes no difference what the remit was - all the evidence and information available to SY for investigation remained exactly the same.    And until they went through it they wouldn't know what was in it.    It follows that if there was evidence against the McCanns contained within it - then it would have come to light.     To deliberately and wilfully  ignore such evidence once it had been found would be perverting the course of justice imo.

I do not believe that the many SY police officers involved in sifting through the evidence would agree to be part of  a huge conspiracy to protect people whom the evidence had indicated could be guilty of a crime.

Way too far fetched for me.

I always recall a Portuguese poster on the old 3Arguidos board, StinkySardine opining often that the biggest insult that could possibly be hurled at his country,  was to suggest that they would buckle or bow the knee in subservience and obedience to any other nation.

He was emphatically repudiating the notion of any kind of conspiracy or cover-up.

Marvellous poster!

I think had that been the case s/he could have been classed as one.

There is no logical route for Madeleine to take had she exited the apartment of her own volition which would have put her in danger of traffic, unless it had mounted the pavement.
There was no evidence of a RTA.

There are many hit and run occurrences ... in how many does the perpetrator leave the vehicle, remove traces and the body?  Very few if any, I imagine.

One has to wonder has the increased activity on here as regards trying to persuade people, especially that Madeleine is still alive, is linked to the 3 rd of May, and the tenth year of her having disappeared without trace.

There will be a media blitz in line with that.

Also,  I find it quite nauseating when certain people imply, that merely because many people believe she is dead, it is somehow  an inhumane attitude to take.

One does get the impression that certain parties on here would like to control activity in favour of a pro-Mccann stance at all times.
It works both ways.

Sorry I'm not going there.

I have expressed no opinion about what should and should not be distributed in Portugal.  You are the one who has vociferously expressed opinion.  I merely reminded you of that fact.

The idea that Portuguese people do not use English is a non-starter.  I speak to my Dutch neighbour in English because my knowledge of Dutch does not extend much beyond 'Edam'.

English is the lingua Franca in Portugal.
Your Dutch neighbour is not Portuguese so a bit irrelevant to the point.  Amaral is Portuguese and cannot speak English, so that's a more relevant example.

I could accept that Exton believed she left the apartment under her own steam but got into trouble thereafter. He was an interesting character and he also says he put undercover operatives into the Ocean Club.  That was exactly the right thing to do.

The scenarios are endless, possibly the initial panicked intention was to seek medical assistance but alas to no avail.  Thereafter  emotions of self preservation take over leading to the covert disposal of the body.

As far as logical routes are concerned all exits end up on a public road and at night around parked cars anything was possible.

The difficulty with the abductor scenario is that there was no evidence of an intruder which there should have been had it occurred.  And as pointed out previously in this thread, an abductor will usually discard his victim shortly afterwards.
