The "misunderstanding" wasn't reported in the available files, was it?

The McCanns were not officially questioned between 10th May & 5th September & there is no record of what discussions took place between them & the PJ during that period. RM made 3 statements during that period yet the question of familiarity doesn't appear to have been asked by the PJ - despite the fact he was under suspicion of abduction. Wasn't that remiss, if motive was part of the process, or were the PJ working only on the theory of collusion by investigating his movements & contacts?

Why would a  'misunderstanding' be reported in the files? BTW what do you think the McCann's lawyer meant by a 'misunderstanding' ?

You seem to be suggesting a conspiracy theory existed wherein the PJ were desperately trying to link GM and RM yet apart from a question from a journalist at a press conference you have offered absolutely no evidence to back it up. We have nothing in the files, no questions to either the McCanns or Murat about each other, no paperwork to suggest that the PJ had probed the idea. In fact it is obvious from the Murat/ Tapas standoff that the PJ knew full well that none of the holiday party knew Murat before the 3rd of May.

Firstly Kate wasn't offered a deal. She was simply told that if she admitted that her daughter had died in an accident she would serve less time than if she was found guilty of murder. That was simply the truth. Even her lawyer at the time admitted that the 'deal' had been a misunderstanding.

Secondly the main protagonist's statements made it to the files and not one single question to any one of them whether they knew each other. Why do you think that was?

The 'misunderstanding' was Philomena McCanns' description of the deal put to Kate and Gerry as a 'plea-bargain'.

The deal was true, but the description of it as a 'plea-bargain' wasn't, strictly, accurate.

Why in heavens name would the McCann's lawyer be commenting on something that was said by Gerry's sister on British television?

To correct the misperception (inaccurate description!) by Philomena McCann of the deal as a 'plea-bargain'.

The deal was/is true; the description of the deal as a 'plea-bargain' not accurate.

As you have been told on numerous times, deals are illegal in Portugal.

Cue the response about the Cipriano's. 8)-)))

Just because they are illegal doesn't mean it wasn't made
Almeida was found guilty of torture if I remember correctly

Amongst other things.  Beating up suspects in Police custody is illegal in Portugal.  The Portuguese courts found it proved that such a thing happened to Leonor Cipriano.

And in any event, no cite has been produced for the contention that deals are illegal in Portugal.

Would like to produce one?

That was the deal.  And where is your support for the contention that it was also 'the truth'?

No clue what you're on about there.

This has been dealt with before.

There was no deal.

He did.

I also know he had no power to do so.

Correia's  grasp of reality is seriously limited.

So the fact a deal is illegal does not prevent one being offered
Thanks

It would have no value.

Now provide the actual real evidence Mccann was offered one.

Thanks.

Kate says so in her book
Are you accusing her of lying
