I assess this supposed deal in the following manner.

The PJ would not have brought it to Carlos' attention if they thought their case was strong.  I understand (Kate's book?) that there was a long discussion between the PJ and Carlos, seemingly about the 'evidence', before Carlos explained the law to the McCanns.

Speculation now follows.  My expectation is that the dogs were positioned as ultra-reliable, never failed blah blah blah.  My expectation is the DNA evidence was relayed as being strong.  In such a situation, it would have been remiss of Carlos not to discuss the 2 year option with Kate and it would have been remiss of Carlos not to recommend the 'no comment' route once arguidoed.

I have no reason to expect that Carlos had the expertise to assess the dog 'evidence' directly.  I have no reason to expect that Carlos had the expertise to assess the DNA evidence directly.

If Kate had admitted to body disposal there was basically no way this could have been disproved by the PJ.  As an arguida, she was entitled to say 'no comment' to anything that might incriminate her more, thus scuppering further progress by the PJ.

Here's the part being missed, the bit supporters cannot see.

Bringing the 2 year option to Carlos, Kate and Gerry should have been a very clear signal to all 3 that the PJ at that point in time were unable to prove body disposal or homicide i.e. that the case they had was weak.

That they did not have sufficient evidence to charge or to take Kate to court re either body concealment or body disposal.

There was no deal.  The PJ were cage-rattling in the hope that something would fall out before Kate and Gerry left for England.

At that point in time, I cannot tell if the PJ believed the line they had been fed about the wonder dogs.  Questions put later to Martin Grime suggest to me that a wonder dog capability had been fed to them, and that they had not performed an independent verification.

Carlos, Kate and Gerry failed to identify that the McCanns were in a strong position.

I believe this is confirmed in their freedom of movement.  From memory, it was also confirmed in their arguido interviews, where they were put on the lowest level of arguidodom, but I would need to check that point again.

Blah, Blah, Blah.  What lowest level of Arguidodom?  You mean it comes in levels?

I suspect that you have lost the plot.  Sheesh.  I think I might give up any minute now if this is the best you can do.

I would say that Kate's and Gerry's arguido status (possibly) plumbs the lowest depths.

Then again, there is Leonor Cipriano ....

At least Kate and Gerry are not languishing in a Portuguese jail.

At least two other sites think it does, apparently.
Me? I believe it is a typo or one of them twice translated non verbatim thingummybobs we hear so much about that should have read:
Arguido Dom or Arguida Domme.
Some would pay good cash money for that..... &%+((£

I'm surprised you know so much about these other sites
You've obviously widened your horizons

I know of the existence of other "McCann" sites.
But to paraphrase you : Reading trash does not widen horizons.

So you would describe the sites that support sils assertion as trash
So would I

Not always true.

I read Amaral's book.

And my horizons were widened.

Keela finds blood from both live and dead people
That's why she is deployed
Your lack of knowledge is astounding
Was Keela deployed in Luz to find a live Madeleine McCann?  How many times did Grime deploy Keela to find a live person?

If you wish to contest why Keela was deployed, you are not doing Team McCann any favours.
What's up, old man?

You are making yourself look quite silly if you don't understand why keela was deployed

Both dogs are deployed to detect forensically recoverable evidence... Martin Grime

I don't know whether or not the sites I looked at support SiL's assertion*. The sites merely used the term arguidodom, whatever that may mean. I posted my interpretation of it above.

 * nor do I kin care. I tend to lump the "McCann sites" together all of a piece. This forum is the least obnoxious and most entertaining.

Keela was deployed to identify the scent of blood ... nothing more nothing less.
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

Keela was deployed to find blood (the only thing she was trained to find).

According to John Lowe's report, nothing identifiable as 'blood' was discerned in the tests they carried out.

Or at least, the word 'blood' does not feature, once, in John Lowe's report.

So either Martin Grime knew what he was talking about when he said that Keela could detect blood in traces so minute, they would not be detected in a forensic laboratory (how would Grime know?)

Or John Lowe was being diplomatic when he remarked on the claim that it is one on which (sic) we usually  take the handler's word ....

Ducked the question again?  Oh dear.

The question has been answered and is extremely basic
I have already answered it tonight...
keela was deployed to find blood from a living or deceased person
So ducked the question again.... absolute rubbish I have already given the same answer tonight
