As an aside, notice anything about this testimony from DE?

He thought he was the first professional? What about Henry Exton?

From the article I quoted earlier, from the Belfast Telegraph, I cited the wrong bit.

I should have cited this:

The rest is the opinion of the writer about what Edgar [in the writer's opinion] is likely to have meant.
Unless the writer of the article is inventing quotes, the Belfast Telegraph reported "Dave said: “It’s an amazingly powerful tool, so it’s a real shame we will never get to use it with Maddie.”"

This was a year after the PJ Files had been released, and the use of LCN on samples from 5A was on file.  Edgar had either not read that part of the PJ Files, or he was being disingenuous with a spot of PJ bashing.

This came about a month after the Victoria Beckham press conference and the criticisms of his work on that.

He was not covering himself in glory, though the BT article does read like some good advertising.
What's up, old man?

Years of experience as a detective? Undoubtedly. Professional?  Not in the least. Not even attempting to ask questions at a marina where a 'vital' witness was said to have been seen. Not insisting that he had full and unfettered access to all the relevant information. Not even knowing that LCN DNA had been used in the case already. Does that sound professional to you?

Now Henry Exton was a consummate professional with a long career in both the police and M15. He not only had access to all the files but was also the composer of the efits that OG are now placing so much importance on. And we know from the 'hypercritical' report what he thought.
LOL, you really don't make a very strong case for cutting Edgar down to size, do try harder, and your admiration for Exton's professionalism seems to rest solely on the use of the word "hypercritical" in a Times article used to describe his report of the McCanns.  Have you seen this report?  What does it say?  Because you claim to know what Exton thinks so let's be hearing it.

Resources isn't the issue. That Edgar only had access to the files the McCanns determined is.

You may be making a misleading statement here.  Are you able to support it with a cite?
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

It sounds to me as though you are accusing The McCanns of withholding Files.  Please correct me if I have misunderstood.

Tell me what there isn't to admire in Exton's professional record?

Exton's professional record is not something I have thoroughly researched.  Is he the dog's bollocks of PIs then?  did he find Madeleine but not tell anyone?

Are you really trying to play ' my detective's better than your detective ' Alfie ?  Exton's professional record speaks for itself.

So let's see an account of Exton's professional record.

You are posting misleading information ... that is contrary to forum rules.

Funnily enough I was going to ask you exactly the same question in my previous post.  It seems you introduced the subject of Exton and how bloody marvellous he is, so I would suggest that it is you playing the games around here.  Did Exton find Madeleine?  No, then me must be just as good or as bad as the rest of them - IMO.
