You are attributing a motivation to me that I did not raise, which is more than a little bit naughty on your part.

I pointed out that the archiving report cannot be relied on for 100% accuracy or sufficiency.  If you wish to conflate that with something else, it is because you choose to conflate.  Your issue, your problem, not mine.

the mccanns statements cannot be relied upon to be a 100% accurate....which is more than a little important

Well, we don't agree on what it says. The SC judges disagree with you. The Final Report by the PJ doesn't agree with you;

Type of Crime – Unknown
http://www.mccannpjfiles.co.uk/PJ/P_J_FINAL_REPORT.htm

Agreement or disagreement doesn't enter it.

Acceptance or rejection of the facts does:

Quote
Concerning the other indicated crimes, they are no more than that and despite our perception that, due to its high degree of probability, the occurrence of a homicide cannot be discarded, such cannot be more than a mere supposition, due to the lack of sustaining elements in the files.

In that sense, type of crime unknown.

Then, the paragraph immediately following:

Quote
The non involvement of the arguidos parents of Madeleine in any penally relevant action seems to result from the objective circumstances of them not being inside the apartment when she disappeared, from the normal behaviour that they adopted until said disappearance and afterwards, as can be amply concluded from the witness statements, from the telephone communications analysis and also from the forensics' conclusions, namely the Reports from the FSS and from the National Institute for Legal Medicine.

At least, so far as the prosecutors are concerned, Kate and Gerry are not suspected of any crime.

I think it's accurate.  The McCanns did not have sufficient knowledge of the outlying terrain to hide a body - end of.

The guilty party or parties, remain unknown, except to themselves.

The rest is supposition.

Shame it does not say anything like that then.  Problematic for you, but since I did not go there, not an issue for me.

Why does the archiving report even mention the McCanns lack of knowledge of the outlying terrain then?  What's the relevance?

Since the archiving report got it wrong, you speculate.  I am happy to stop on the fact that the archiving report got it wrong.  I don't feel the need to speculate why.

so did they get it 100% wrong or were they slightly innaccurate...teh Mccanns spent most of their time at teh club and had little knoweldge of the surrounding area.........secondly you are basing your opinion on an unnoficial translation

This is really absurd.  You could equally say the archiving report got it wrong because the parents were driven  into PdL at the beginning of the holiday so did not spend the entire holiday in the OC or at the beach.  Nit-picking in the extreme and you have deflected entirely from the reason why this point was even mention in the archiving report in the first place.

Type of crime unknown. That means they didn't know whether Madeleine was abducted or not.
