The term 'significant lead' is merely a cliche.

Mark my words on that.

Yeah, all leads are significant - until they aren't

what I took from the announcement was that SY consider the McCanns investigated enough to rule them out. So the idea it was an accidental death followed by a disposal of the body is ruled out.  end.

So unless it was some weirdo Madeleine was in the apartment alive till someone abducted her, then took her alive or dead out of the apartment or she woke and wandered then abducted.

Yeah, all leads are significant - until they aren't

The SC had no jurisdiction to rule on guilt in Madeleine's disappearance. The PJ had no evidence of the parents' involvement in any crime against Madeleine so to suggest otherwise is libellous.

The SC didn't rule on guilt in Madeleine's disappearance. They ruled on the claim by the McCann's lawyer that the archiving dispatch 'cleared' them. The SC judges said it didn't. If the archiving dispatch didn't 'clear' them they were NOT 'ruled out' by the Portuguese.

What would you expect to see if it were solved? What does solve mean to you?

Before you ask, I consider solved to mean a culprit identified and sent to trial.

Dream on Rob, we've heard that for years.

It will be shelved.

Then you will be eating the humble pie.

thats the whole point...SY disagree with them...they have looked at the evidence in the files and decided the mccanns are not suspects therefore ruling them out

It depends on what you want.  I would be happy to see Madeleine found, and I expect that The McCanns would as well.

Madeleine found alive ought to be what we all crave above everything else.

For some of us, beyond doubt, it is.

What's incomprehensible is that the statement immediately above (this one!) should be subject to any sort of qualification .....

Agreed, but if it were just her remains, would you be satisfied with that or would you want to know what actually  happened and who was responsible ?

I haven't thought beyond Madeleine being found alive.  And I don't intend to unless I have to.

The SC actually changed the point of law in the archiving report to substantiate their own opinion.

Do we know if any of this much vaunted phone data has proved to be of any use? It doesn't seem to have led to any 'break through'
