Maybe we need to invent a new word "the alleged abductor" becoming the "allegeductor".

How about we simply ban all mention of an abductor or an abduction, that way we'll be sure not to upset anyone's delicate constitution.  Both words could appear as [censored word]s.

No need as it's really very simple. Stop posting references to an abductor when it isn't even known if there even was one.  Abduction in the Madeleine McCann case is merely a claim, a theory or an opinion and nothing more even at this stage.  As Rowley stated, the Met doesn't have definitive evidence as to what happened to Madeleine and that all hypotheses have to remain open.

A malicious prosecution for a crime which never existed. An exposé of egregious malfeasance by public officials.
Indeed, the truth never changes with the passage of time.

Would you therefore please also ask people to stop repeating that there is no evidence of an abduction when they are not in possession of the same facts as SY & the PJ. People cannot state as a fact that there is no evidence of an abduction.

You do realize that this applies then to the other theories as well.

It will be interesting to see in the light of this what is and isn't allowed
Can posters stop posting that the McCann said the shutters were jemmied
Can they stop saying the McCann didn't search
Lets see how fairly this rule will be applied ie

It is interesting to note that some poster are trying to stick to the rules while still managing to express their opinions.

Jolly good show.  It can be done.

'Her aunt Trish Cameron, who lives in Glasgow, said she felt certain her niece had been abducted.

"They last checked at half past nine and they were all sound asleep, sleeping, windows shut, shutters shut.''

"Kate went back at 10 o'clock to check. The front door was lying open, the window had been tampered with, the shutters had been jemmied open or whatever you call it and Madeleine was missing...''

"She's an absolutely beautiful, wee blonde girl, blue-green eyes - one distinguishing feature is that one of her pupils runs into the iris of her right eyes. She's an absolutely gorgeous wee girl."

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/leicestershire/6623127.stm

Meanwhile, the last recorded 'physical search' by the McCann's, took place the morning after she disappeared.

Nothing else has been recorded or claimed by the McCann's.

Then of course the statements
We don't know how accurate they are as we don't have the original in english
So in essence nothing that cannot be proved can be posted without a caveat

Posters have claimed the McCann didn't search and have claimed that they said the windows were jemmied
Neither is proven and therefore must be posted with a caveat

So nothing that cannot be proven can be posted without a caveat
A new reason for reporting
Caveat
I hope it's applied fairly but doubt it will

Fascinating.

Even when cites are provided and certain facts are already known, some will still deny them.
