in the unlikely event that portugal refused to arrest a suspect and SY had sufficient grounds ...SY could issue an EAW which means portugal would not have the final say
I have read the thread, you are clearly confused or trying to sell a camel at a car show.
SY do not have any duristriction regarding the Maddie case- they cannot arrest anyone they think may have done something. Also to get an arrest warrant they have to present a case... and guess what- they don't have one in this instance.
Now on other matters regarding arresting UK citizens who commit sex crimes against children , they can arrest, with the indigenous police force in the country. As an example; sex gangs operating in EU, and the also arrest on landing, anyone who has been investigated abroad about such crimes and charge in this country. Gary Glitter is one promenant case.
