I'm glad you added Allegedly.  I'm not sure Opinions are good enough these days.

It's "belt and braces" posting these days.

I was thinking the word allegedly isn't really good enough for you would then need to define who made that allegation.

Sorry, what allegation.  I think I might have lost the plot.

In Sil's opinion I allegedly offered a reasonable interpretation of why Madeleine's picture didn't appear on BGT. I wasn't alleging, just suggesting a possibility.

So, no harm done.

Natalie Putt appeared on Britain's Got Talent last Friday during the Missing People Choir's performance - her half-sister believed it may have helped sparked interest in her again

Did Britain's Got Talent choir prompt police to reopen search for missing mother? Detectives exhume graves in search for 17-year-old who vanished in 2003 - days after her face appeared in moving BGT appeal

On claims the new information came following the picture being shown on Britain's Got Talent, he said: 'It is fortuitous, I'm aware it was on there. It did the same thing we are trying to do here today, raise awareness and help us appeal for fresh information. We want people to come forward.'

"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

The police actions of course, are probably not connected to her picture appearing on the show. There are various permissions needed; the Home Office, the Diocesan Registry, the next of kin's of those buried there. It takes time.
As the policeman said though, it might help further information to come out.

I suppose a mention on Crimewatch was out of the question...or a BBC documentry on people who are missing apart from Maddie, as we know he is missing.

I watched a documentary about a man who was missing as far as his family were concerned, but was ;out of contact' as far as the Police were concerned because he rang his family occasionally. It turned out he had been taken by travellers and used as a slave worker on a farm. His phone calls were supervised (he was a vulnerable person). It took his family 13 years to find him and rescue him.

Was BGT really the right platform, take the likes of Paul Potts,Susan Boyle who went on to fame and fortune were they really hoping to do that, why not go with some like of Gareth Malone to further it.

I wondered about that too, but it was all about promoting Missing Persons and not winning the competition.

A malicious prosecution for a crime which never existed. An exposé of egregious malfeasance by public officials.
Indeed, the truth never changes with the passage of time.

Indeed.

I got really bored with reality 'talent shows' after their first series. it all boils down to the saddest stories ... so pretentious. My gran dies of cancer and this was her favorite song type of hype...or the race card is played-seriously boring. let us all cry all the time-  flowers and candles...we are one and all that just makes me cringe.

The appearance of the choir on national television certainly had the desired result as far as one family was concerned, I hope things work out well for them.
Teenager who appeared in Britain's Got Talent's Missing People Choir appeal is found safe and well
The boy, 13, called his mother after he saw the choir perform on the talent show
Charity Missing People, who run the choir, say the boy is home safe and well

Participation in the competition had positive outcomes for the charity Missing People.  It raised some revenue and it raised a new public awareness.
There may be few or no fairy tale endings, but on the other hand there may be lost people out there whose families may at least be given the chance of finding out what might have happened to their loved ones.

Where IS missing Tom? Agony as Britain's Got Talent choir tip off falls flat and parents fail to find homeless man in Milan who looks just like son who vanished 14 years ago

Tom Moore disappeared in Italy in 2003 aged 31 and would now be aged 45

A 15-year-old Italian boy sent the family videos of a man he claimed was Tom

Parents Ian and Jennifer flew to Italy but could not find homeless man

The case will now appear on Italian TV this evening in the hope of a breakthrough

Brother Ben told MailOnline latest sighting was 'the most realistic to Tom'
