Nope a search doesn't bring up any thing regarding the justification of the overall cost of OG,that will only be explained I would think by the HO who are funding it.

If you want to ignore reality it's up to you
As HH pointed out there was a massive amount of information to translate and analyse
That is a concise statement and no sensible person would describe that as waffle
No sensible person would claim to know "exactly why it cost £11 million".  Then compound it by using BHH as the source of this 'expertise'.
What's up, old man?

I know exactly why it cost so much
Because of the incredible amount of data to be translated and collated
It just makes so much sense and is true
Sour grapes on your behalf methinks

So how did Kate do it for £100,000 and some midnight oil?

£10.9 million unaccounted for.  Whatever 'youthinks'.

Kate did the translation only
SY had the expense of analysis and correlating all the information

SY had files that had not been released

Surely you mean collating  the data ?

Agency costs;

In 2011 £ 100,000 on G4S staff
In 2012 £   60,000
In 2013 £   55,000
In 2014 £   58,000
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/scotland-yard-used-ex-police-7112764

2014;
57 flights to Portugal £16,000

The bulk of the costs is said to come from salaries, overtime and property expenses.

To be honest, I have never been interested in a detailed breakdown as to where the dosh went.  The only figure that would get my genuine interest is how much was spent on the 'sun tans in Luz' trip in June 2014.  The bill must have been eye-watering to investigate and rule out those 41 anomalies.

I was simply pointing out to a fellow forum member that to claim a detailed understanding of where the money has gone is tosh.

I find it reassuring from the FOI request that DCI Nicola Wall can apparently 'sneak' in and out of Portugal without the DCI Andy Redwood media fanfare.

Pretty much I would say although in general terms all you need know about costs is they come in through your front door on two legs and if you want to cut costs start by heaving out bodies...... 8(>((

That's what I thought.

Perhaps we could try to stick to The Topic.

It is a fact
Not tosh
That the reason this investigation had cost so much is the incredibly large amount of information that has had to be translated and processed
