Exactly, nigh on 7 yrs, multi millions spent ,access to  laboratories, access to witness's and yet no evidence of an abduction, lest its forgot the brief was to "investigate an abduction as if it happened in the uk" ever wonder why?

Because the entire UK government, MI5, MI6, SOCA, Interpol, Europol, NASA, the NSA, nuclear energy giants and the pharmaceutical industry, possibly also the medical community involved in stem cell research or cloning had conspired to protect a couple of provincial doctors to thwart Amaral's investigation? Add to that the FSS, the INML, higher echelons in the PJ, the PT AG...

Have I missed anyone? Mossad or the former KGB, perhaps?

There's also the "fact" of political pressure due to the Treaty of Lisbon , which, as everyone is supposed to know, in fact wasn't actually about an update to the Maastricht Treaty (ah, we missed a Netherlands connection there, very suspicious), but about blackmail regarding allowing the VIP McCanns to return home in exchange for not annihilating /colonising Lisbon.

How are we doing?

We're missing a few lizard elites in all this.

Yet when you throw out all the conspiracy crap which is yielded by who just exactly? then its a simple old little abduction investigated just like it occurred in the good old uk,still nothing, despite the £millions and access to that I listed before, ever wonder why theres no sign of the elusive pimpernel.

I suppose the silly season is upon us.

Before some see it as a slight against them, wiki has this to say about it.

Have you received a personal briefing from Operation Grange out of interest?

I wasn't aware one needed to have to form an opinion, but if its a requirement for posting then that about does it for the forum.

As Jassi pointed out:

Either both the UK and the PT investigations are deliberately ignoring the possibility that the McCanns were involved, or they actually went over that possibility during the review stage prior to officially reopening the case.

It is of course possible that armchair sleuths need to introduce both professional police authorities to the concept of "clearing the ground under your feet".

Obvious pointers that neither police force had heard of the idea is that they weren't aware of fake EXIF data, nor that westerly rain-bearing winds would hit Faro before PdL.

Silly season used to be during the media-dead months of summer. The timing is now more elusive and there can be mini-silly seasons... with more opportunities to bury bad news. The month of May is often a good time as there are numerous public holidays during that month in some countries.

You stated as fact that the investigation had found no evidence of an abduction.  Are you now telling us that it is only your opinion that they haven't?

I'm not interested in passing the buck to the mod to decide whether or not you were stating your opinion, I was simply asking you - opinion or fact?

I wouldn't call that opinion or fact but rather a type of lament.  "Woe is me the sky is falling"

Barrier says that the investigation has uncovered no evidence of an abduction.  Is that a fact or opinion?  If it is a fact then a simple cite will confirm it.

Why was the pipe being inspected in the first instance?  Routine safety check? or because there was an indication it was faulty?

In the first instance ... "PASS".
In the second ... evident fault which has to be located ... I would say, keep looking, and/or calibrate my inspection equipment.
