Did anyone attend Nessling's trial, does anyone know why he undertook the activities that he engaged in?  A Wikipedia definition of paedophilia is of little help.

I'm not a great fan of newspaper articles,but according to this KM introduced paedophilia through her book,was this the attraction for Nessling.

Yet we've not seen a word of condemnation from the family spokesman,yet when it was mentioned a higher profile person was linked to child abuse they were said to be horrified.

The way you say 'introduced paedophilia throughout her book'   you make it sound so sordid,  the only reason why paedophiles were mentioned is because the McCann's were probably told that a paedophile could have taken Madeleine.     To mention this could have been the reason why Nigel Nessling started watching paedophilia is nonsense,   paedophiles were mentioned in the McCann case right at the start,  when Madeleine wasn't found, it would be natural to think that she may have been taken by a paedophile as this is why many young girls are snatched.

The term correctly applied doesn't appear to fit the specification of the charges. All we can say is that he is a convicted sex offender and will have to sign the sex offenders register and notify the local police of his whereabouts for the next ten years.

Downloading images of children does not satisfy the acknowledged definition of a paedophile.  To be a paedophile one has to have had an EXCLUSIVE interest in children.  As the subject of this thread is a family man, a father and a grandfather, that criteria would appear to be non applicable.  As journalists are generally street wise to these terms that is probably why the Ipswich Star reporter Jane Hunt chose not to use the term in her article.
