Its a thread to discuss a prolific blogger who turned out to be a child sex offender.  And as promised this thread now resides in the Off-Topic board of the forum.  The duplicate thread was deleted.

You should refer your question to Nigel Nessling as it is he who disrespected his family in the first instance by downloading 40,000 indecent child images.

 Myself and a great many others have spent all weekend e-mailing Portuguese authorities, including their prime minister, as well as all the British papers, and you can rest assured, the major part of the Praia da Luz population are apparently incensed at the actions of these barbarians.  Whoever did this is most clearly involved with the abduction, and is desperate to stop anyone giving vital information to the investigators.

A level playing field is what the forum strides for so suggestions for topics which should be deemed off topic are always welcome.  My own view is that you cannot apportion any blame towards the McCanns or anyone else for that matter for what Nigel Nessling did, he and he alone is culpable.  His conviction and fall from grace has nothing to do with the search for Maddie imho.

After I posted last night, I found that there were three threads about him with his name emblazoned across the top .... good to see that it is down to one thread.

Thinking about his family; what they are going through.  With their uncommon surname, they are instantly recognisable:   They do not have a surname like Smiths, Jones or Brown where they will be one of millions and might go unnoticed.   

Let us hope that after all the goading, the forum settles down to a more pleasant place.  We don't want any suicides because of us thoughtlessly tearing in.  Think of the family guys.  They did nothing wrong.

To explain Sadie. It is part of the editing process that when a thread is split due to mass deletions it shows as two threads, and when it is further split it shows as three.  Usually this lasts for only a few minutes but last night I forgot to removed the two deleted threads thus why you saw three threads with a similiar title.
 
There is a fine line between discussing current events and intrusion, hopefully we err on the safe side.

Shenanigans across the boards is something we are all used to, all part of the entertainment.  What will not be tolerated however is wilful abuse of other members or disrespect of the moderators.
