Are you saying that you don't know any sceptics who would start a rumour like this just to blacken the McCanns name further ?

And PeterMac would believe it?.  Or are they using PeterMac's name in vain?

How would it blacken the names of The McCanns anyway?

Not sure what you mean, Faith. Some might, some might not.

I'm far more interested in fnding out whatever happened to Madeleine than forum opinion wars.

Was a rumour to that effect posted somewhere or not? I can't see it, so I've no idea.

If Davel had invented it for whatever reason, I would have expected the sceptic community to deny it en masse, which doesn't appear to be the case so far.

Apparently he told Jill Havern who posted it on her Site.  Him being in touch with Goncalo Amaral.

Did he? Where? Is it public or just another underground rumour? If so, what's the purpose?

If ever someone did post to that effect:

- It's either true and GA chose to keep silent for some unusual reason, but allowed someone else to say so via a forum

or

- It's not true. If that's the case, why post to that effect?

Which is it?

It's fine.... My posts are, typed at 90 miles per hour normally
That's how I'm able to make so many posts

Whats the conversion factor for miles per hour to words per minute?

I was asking the same questions.

Ok. I've now seen Get em's comment alleging that Petermac had said this.

I'm still none the wiser as to whether PeterMac did actually say that or not, nor, if so, whether what he allegedly told her came from GA himself, or some "source", nor whether if the underlying rumour is true or not, let alone why that might be the case if so.

Not sure I'll be holding my breath over it.

I think a question like that is not as simple as you think, for the person travelling near the speed of light time is dilated  and so it will not take as long as you think.  Light travels from one side of the universe to the other in no time at all. but that is in its Frame of Reference, not ours stuck on the Earth.

I think your question really was "If the milky way is a hundred thousand light years across and I travel at close to the speed if light how long does it take me to travel across it measured by someone on Earth."  for the answer I believe you wanted was more than a hundred thousand years.
