What response did she get from the parents. She contacted them you said?
She didn't get a direct personal response but in the newspaper article it stated she did the right thing.
Karen Sisson wrote:
"A spokesman for the girl’s parents Kate and Gerry McCann, of Rothley, Leicestershire, said yesterday: “
In this particular case the person did the right thing in going to the authorities at the time. It is now in the process of being re-examined by the Metropolitan Police as part of Operation Grange. It’s entirely proper that the police do that work as thoroughly as they can.”so looks like Operation Grange did look into this.
you know it is hard for someone like me to come forward as you are made to feel like you are a time waster or accusing an innocent person , having read this statement at least I can see that I did the right thing. I have not read this comment before
though no-one from operation grange has rung me I can say that" End quote.
This following quote was attributed to "the Sun". "A source close to Kate and Gerry McCann, Madeleine's parents, told The Sun that the sighting had been passed on to Operation Grange, set up by the Metropolitan Police to review the case.
The couple's spokesman said: "This lady has done exactly the right thing in reporting what she saw to the police."" end quote.
It wasn't Karen who outed Karsten Mayer, in fact it isn't quite clear how that happened as there are different versions.
