Just my opinion and probably very wide of the mark ... for why would our members wish to subvert the forum, as if!

How did she discover that nothing has been done?

When the copies of the McCann files become available to the public.  It happened to me when the file became public she would have had a chance to read about what the PJ had done about her sighting and find it isn't even listed in the list of sightings.  I could imagine that was disappointing!

It sounds like she did everything possible to alert the authorities.  I'll work out who was contacted and when?

It sounds as if she didn't have a very good second look and she contacts everyone except the relevant PJ. Why would that be?

Languages would come into it.  Maybe she can speak English and Spanish but not Portuguese.

Anything reported via Crimestoppers or even via Europol would not necessarily be in the accessible files.

Why you're clinging to this sighting I don't know. The PJ files are full of sightings which people reported from all over Europe including Spain and Gibraltar. I think it's highly unlikely that both police forces neglected to pass Mrs Sisson's sighting on. What an unfortunate coincidence that would be.

I'm not clinging to any sighting, but we are discussing this particular sighting and the fact it never got signed off fully.
A lot of sightings had very few leads but this one went right to the people involved, and still it remain "all but"  ruled out "CID officers in Bern say that he has already 'all but' been ruled out of enquiries".

Interview with Karen Sisson who made the one the first sightings of MM.

"I contacted the olive press because I had had no answers as to whether my sighting had been investigated fully. The Olive Press sold the story to the UK Press and it was apparently followed up by reporters"  "I made no money from the event."

"yes the people carrier was still there, but it had sheets draped all over it, and I couldnt see inside. At one point a blond toddler climbed out but was pulled back inside. I did not see the little girl that time.
the whole thing was strange, which is why I was haunted I suppose.

The first visit was so soon after the day she went missing it was not known about in Spain. They could have hidden her in plain sight
I had seen it on sky news so I was following the case, but it was not international news at that point
In fact when I tried to report it there was no hotline , I had to try via the bbc
The thing was , eventually the bbc got a Portuguese policeman to call me, but he hardly took any details and then I heard no more. Years went past and I knew the investigation was flawed that's why I wanted to get someone to finally look at my lead and had not had response from the McCann hotline at all.

It was very similar to that style, maybe lower in height all together , but it had the cream box and was a sort of gold/coppery metallic.

I take it from his story he was just on holiday? Well outside the camper van there were crates of possessions and children's bikes etc, a table and chairs etc. This seemed more permanent than a holiday, as if they had been there a while or moved around camp sites. It was more than just holiday equipment."
