Motorhead - Ace of Spades (lyrics)

Don't encourage me!
There are two;
Lemmy Barnett who was the radio operator in Journey Space [for us oldies]. Originally played by David Kossoff whose son the late Paul Kossoff was a brilliant rock guitarist with Free https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWrfwtPQ1tc.
Free morphed into Bad Company after Kossoffs death.
Then there was the late Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister of Motorhead a heavy metal band.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1iwC2QljLn4

In at about 1:30 for the joker.

My mantra is from Ace of Spades:
"You win some, lose some, all the same to me
The pleasure is to play, makes no difference what you say
I don't share your greed"

All off topic of course but a nice bit of rock nonetheless.

Apparently the mods didn't like my mentioning "Carmen" last week. See how they like Heavy Metal.
I draw the line at NashTrash.

I like to keep it simple for Rob`. Too much googling gives you a headache I don't suppose he's remotely interested in pink buses.

I find this Paulo Reis research very refreshing.

My opinion about Gerry and Kate McCann"  by Paulo Reis http://gazetadigitalmadeleineandthemedia.blogspot.co.nz/2007/06/my-opinion-about-gerry-and-kate-mccann.html

I am surprised what I read here.
"Tuesday, 26 June 2007
My opinion about Gerry and Kate McCann
I don’t believe, as a journalist, that the McCanns are, in any way, related with the abduction of Madeleine. I’ve been following this case, not only in the Web – I was also at Praia da Luz, for one week (May 17 to May 23). For the last two months, I also have followed the news on the Net very carefully and closely.

So, based on all the information I collected, either during my stay in Praia da Luz or in the Net, as a journalist, I CAN’T SEE THE SLIGHTEST EVIDENCE THAT GERRY AND KATE HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH HER DAUGTHER DISAPEARENCE.

And I AM ABSOLUTELY SURE, WITH THE INFORMATION I HAVE, NOW, THAT THERE IS NOTHING THE MCCAN CAN BE ACCUSED OF, FROM A LEGAL OR CRIMINAL POINT OF VIEW. I may be wrong, but I STRONGLY BELIEVE THE CHANCE OF BEING WRONG IS VERY SMALL: 0,1 per cent, as I'm 99, 9 per cent sure of what I say.

As a human being, a common man, father of two boys (one, 22 years old, the other 11) let me tell you this: I was at an arm’s distance from the McCanns, when they gave a Press Conference at Praia da Luz. I looked into the eyes of Kate McCann and I saw so much pain and suffering that I had to take a deep breath to control myself, to avoid tears coming to my eyes and not let emotion overcome me! I was shocked to see so much pain in her eyes and in her look! That's something that only people that has kids can understand and feel!"

Well that was from being there and looking the McCanns in the eye.   I had no idea he was that way inclined.

He admits to have changed his opinion, so I suppose there were times he wrote with a different stance.
Paulo Reis writes:
"You are quoting an opinion I wrote in June 26, 2007. That was my opinion, at the time, with the facts that were available - not only my opinion, but also the opinion of millions of people, all over the world. Like many millions, I changed my opinion. I can't ignore the fact that PJ, the Public Prosecutor's Office and the Criminal Instruction Court - a three-tier system, where each institution is independent from the other - agreed they are suspects and have some degree of responsibility in the disappearance of her daughter."  (I've corrected many spelling mistakes he made)

So I'm a little confused was this his first opinion and later it changed to be more favour with the PJ or is it the other way around?
Got it now:  It was the opposite he changed to be sceptical of the McCanns from an initial favourable stance.
The admission of a change of heart was on 22 September 2007.

He's not the only one to display faulty reasoning. Pain and suffering isn't evidence of innocence.

OK a name comes up again - Duarte Levy:  https://joana-morais.blogspot.co.nz/2009/07/credibility-and-journalism-paulo-reis.html

"Credibility and journalism - by Paulo Reis
by astro 9 years ago
As a journalist since 1982, I always did my best to check and confirm, with several and reliable sources, all facts and information in the articles I published, either alone or co-authored. Serious allegations were raised by Joana Morais, a blogger that I know and respect, concerning the credibility of Mr. Duarte Levy, with whom I co-authored many articles about Madeleine Mccann's investigation.

My credibility is also seriously damaged, due to my association with him. A journalist's credibility takes a long time to build but it's a fragile thing. A single mistake is enough to destroy it. Once lost, it's almost impossible to have it back. So, I decided to stop writing about this case.

Time – and the persistent work of so many people, in hundreds of blogs and dozens of forums, analyzing the large amount of information available – will show what is truth and what is not truth. In the end, I believe, truth will prevail – and that is the most important."

We must never forget that if Madeleine was not abducted the likelihood was she had died in an accident that more than likely wouldn’t have happened if she had not been left alone. It would be unbelievable if Kate didn’t display signs of pain and suffering.

Her violin isn't pink. You really, really need a diploma in googling when dealing with Alice. (no offence intended)

The sad thing is most of it was in my head long before Google was launched in UK.
I remember that well. It was plugged by Johnny Walker [remember him and Sally Bozeman the "Jam Tart" ?] on "Drive Time". I shifted to Google as a result of J.W's praise for it.

The admission of a change of heart was on 22 September 2007.
The change of heart followed on from The Mccanns being made Arguidos, returning home and then just two days before Paulo Reis said that, the Martin Smith statement about the man coming down the plane steps, from the way he carried the little one, being like Smithman.

That is pretty persuasive stuff, and now The Mccanns are freed from the Arguido status and Martin Smith has publicly declaired that Smithman wasn't Gerry I wonder how Paulo feels now?

Were you following this case then.  There seems to have been the time when he was really matey with Duarte Levy and then the major falling out "My credibility is also seriously damaged, due to my association with him. Did he keep his word and not write about the case after that?
