So now it’s a fact that Eddie alerted to cadaver scent, or is that just your opinion?

It is the most likely scenario.

It is the most likely scenario.

In whose opinion... Because that is all it is

It is a fact that if a dog trained to alert to a certain scent, alerts it is the most likely scenario that the dog has alerted as trained.

Here’s a fact for you - Amaral failed to prove Madeleine died in the apartment, despite his contention to the contrary.
That's an IYO.

Whilst others have different opinions.
What's up, old man?

According  to grime... In his first statement he said it was, possible, the, alert was to cadaver... And then suggestive... Never most likely... You are, quoting your opinion as fact

That would be a fact would it not?

There is no proof Maddie, died in the apartment.... And certainly  none from amaral... That is, fact not opinion

So you think it is more likely that the dog alerted to something other than it was trained for?

I prefer to rely on the opinion of Grime.... He never said it was likely... You are therefore quoting your opinion as fact

As you put store by what Grime says here are some more...

All five apartments were searched using the EVRD. The only alert indications
were at apartment 5a, the reported scene.

The EVRD alerted in the:
Rear bedroom of the apartment in the immediate right hand corner by
the door.

Living room, behind sofa.
Veranda outside parent's bedroom.
Garden area directly under veranda.

The dog will alert to the presence of cadaver scent whether it is at source or
some distance away from a deposition site. This enables the use of the dog to
identify the venting or exhaust channels of the scent through fissures in
bedrock or watercourses. A geophysical survey of the area will then reduce
the size of the search area.

Both dogs and I are licensed as two separate working teams. We are
independently tested and licensed annually, normally at six monthly intervals
as a 'rolling' programme to ensure best practice is maintained. They are
tested to units of assessment prepared as a stand-alone system as these
dogs are unique. Training records are maintained and are available if
required.

'False' positives are always a possibility; to date Eddie has not so indicated
operationally or in training. In six years of operational deployment in over 200
criminal case searches the dog has never alerted to meat based and
specifically pork foodstuffs designed for human consumption. Similarly the
dog has never alerted to 'road kill', that is any other dead animal.
My experience as a trainer is that false alerts are normally caused by handler
cueing. All indications by the dog are preceded by a change in bahaviour.
This increased handler confidence in the response. This procedure also stops
handlers 'cueing' and indication. The dogs are allowed to 'free search' and
investigate areas of interest. The handler does not influence their behaviour
other than to direct the search.

In my opinion it's a logical conclusion, given his training and experience. What do you think he alerted to in the bedroom of G5A?

You don’t know Grime’s opinion only what is in his statement, parts of which I have quoted above.

Are you now saying that is not Grimes opinion and he is being untruthful.... It ties in exactly with what Harrison  says

Grime could be prosecuted if he has made a false statement
